MILL CREEK, Wash. -- Bomb squads from the FBI, Washington State Patrol and Snohomish County Sheriff's Office descended on a home in the Seattle Hill-Silver Firs neighborhood Monday afternoon, and witnesses reported hearing several explosions.
A number of homeowners in the area of 130th St. SE and 26th Ave. SE say they were evacuated sometime after 4:30 p.m. as law enforcement agents poured into the neighborhood.
The FBI's Ayn Dietrich confirmed that agency bomb techs were at the home, but wouldn't say if they discovered any explosives. However, witnesses in the area reported hearing several explosions.
Prior to each blast, a warning alarm sounded for several seconds, followed by the explosion.
Just after 10 p.m., all residents except for those living at the target house were allowed to return to their homes, according to a WSP official.
It's unclear what tipped the agents to the home or if any arrests have been made.
Dietrich said there's no timetable for when agents will leave the area.
