SEATTLE -- Almost everyone enjoys falafel, but police say one man's love of the Middle Eastern treat earned him a trip to the hospital this weekend.

Police say a 36-year-old man walked into Fremont restaurant just after 2:30 a.m. on Saturday and noticed the group in front of him was ordering the restaurant's last batch of falafel.

Unhappy with his situation, the man began to insult the customers in front of him. The group later told police the man became aggressive, slapping one customer and punching another in the face.

Once the violence broke out, two customers tackled the man inside the restaurant. The man landed awkwardly and broke his leg, according to police. Two of the restaurant's cooks then helped the man out of the business and into a nearby cab.

Officers arrived on scene moments later and found the man still sitting in the taxi, holding what police described as his "shattered shin." He was taken to a Ballard hospital for treatment.

It's unclear if he will face any charges in the fight.
