AUBURN, Wash. -- Investigators have determined that an intense fire at an Auburn home that killed a woman Sunday afternoon was a suicide.

Several neighbors in the 5000 block of Elliot Ct. E. called 911 just before 4 p.m. after hearing an explosion and breaking glass, followed by the sight of heavy smoke and flames shooting from the upper floor windows, Auburn fire officials said.

Firefighters went into the home and found the body of a woman inside a second-floor bedroom.

Investigators said it appears the woman had set fire to her own bed.
