SEATTLE - All southbound lanes of SR-99 have reopened after a fatal collision took place just north of the West Seattle Bridge Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews arrived to SR-99 at Holgate shortly after 4:30 p.m., and began CPR on a 61-year-old motorcyclist. The man suffered head trauma, Seattle Fire officials said, after colliding with a vehicle.

The motorcyclist passed away en route to Harborview Medical Center, said Seattle Fire officials.

WSDOT switched I-5 express lanes to southbound to help with traffic, and after three hours Seattle Police said lanes were open and traffic was flowing freely.

Details on what caused the crash have not been released. It is unclear what other vehicles were involved, and officials have not given any information regarding the condition of other passengers.
