Officials: Man tried to barricade himself in burning home

KENT, Wash. (AP) - Fire officials in the Seattle suburb of Kent say a man has been taken into custody after he tried to barricade himself in his burning apartment Sunday.

A Kent fire spokesman said in a statement that no one was injured in the blaze that started in an apartment on the first floor of a 12-unit building. Residents have been allowed to return to their homes.

Capt. Kyle Ohashi says investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire and what led to the incident.

He says the man was taken to a local hospital for unknown reasons. Details of the arrest were not immediately available.
