Former UW football player arrested for armed robbery

SEATTLE -- Former University of Washington football player Zacchery Fogerson was arrested for the on-campus armed robbery of a UW student Monday night and is being held in King County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Fogerson has not been charged, though a judge found probable cause to hold him after a Wednesday afternoon bail hearing. The rush charging deadline is Thursday.
Fogerson, who had been a fullback, is the younger brother of former UW football player Johri Fogerson, who was kicked off the UW team after police said he was caught with marijuana and ran from a State Patrol trooper in May 2011. The older Fogerson pleaded guilty to resisting arrest in that case and transferred to Central Washington University.
Both Fogersons played football at O'Dea High School in Seattle, and their mother is a Seattle police officer.
Police say Zacchery Fogerson approached the victim about 10:35 p.m. Monday near the school's communications building and stole her orange and black purse. Another student who was in the area immediately called UW police, and officers began a search.
Fogerson's Mercury Marquis was seen on a dead end street and stopped near McMahon Hall. Police recovered a silver handgun and orange and black purse from inside the Mercury, according to court documents.
The victim, who was not physically harmed, identified Fogerson as the man who robbed her. In a bulletin that went to students and staff the suspect was described only as a former UW student.
Johri Fogerson has pleaded not guilty in an ongoing assault case for allegedly breaking the jaw of a 15-year-old O'Dea High School student and football player whom he allegedly fought at the school last year. Contacted by police days after the incident, O'Dea Head Coach Monte Kohler admitted he'd heard about the purported assault and said he'd spoken to Fogerson, according to police. Kohler said he then told Fogerson he was no longer welcome at the football training sessions.

Wow he and his brother are working very hard to flush their lives down the toilet. Feel bad for their SPD mom. Seattle is not some hardcore city with projects. So tired of all the young people here who want to go the tough route.
Well, two occupations this young fool are bad at are playing football and being a thug. Time to see the guidance counselor again.
Mom is a SPD officer. And what about Dad? Where is he and what is his occupation?Â
@lakeview His dad is a do-nothing, have-nothing, coulda, woulda, shoulda, living-off-his-mom, POS. Had almost no influence in these boys lives and their mom gave them everything and didn't hold them accountable for their mis-deeds.
Another Loser.  Banish him from the UW Family Immediatly. No 2nd 3rd and 4th chances. OUT NOW !
Result of "equality for women"Â A mother should be home taking care and nurturing the family supported by a husband so that their exists a functional "family" ,not chasing robbers and the "father" probably left the house when the boys were small. Of course there will be anger and resentment.
@BlueH20 I have no idea what your comment has to do with the story but I believe you'll find a ton of folks, men and women, that will strongly disagree with you.
After years of arrogant Husky fans bashing the Ducks and their dysfunctional players, the tables have really turned over the last few years.
@JK15 Are you crazy?  He was kicked off the team before any of this happened, as Sark didn't care for his actions.  The ducks, however, keep players on the team that choke women, rob fraternities, get arrested for DUI, fight girls, assault other people.  You are obviously not very educated about the difference.
@SureHandz   This reporter needs to check the facts. Johri was not kicked off of the team for that incident. He was still on the team A YEAR LATER but was out due to an injury then he graduated. Zacch was released from the team because of multiple concussions. Get it right!
@SureHandz You are right,  those are much wore than the rape, DUI, providing alcohol 16 year old girls, sex with minors, and pimping that Husky players have been involved in.
These 2 brothers are on the highway to hell
His mother must really be proud..what an idiot spoiled kid...probably needed some money for pot...
In other recent news, a former burger flipper from Burien was ticketed for jaywalking.
Likely these guys fit the Jerammy Stephens mold. Protected by parents and coaches and hangers-on and never learning morality or responsibility. Responsible people don't need to assault or rob other people. They act classy and get jobs. Have fun in jail bud.
well... the Cougs will make hay with this one...
I guess trouble will follow if you go around thinking you're a thug and act like a thug. What a train wreck. May be an athlete but definitely not cut out for higher learning. We'll see these names in the news again down the road. Not mom's fault. These kids got the chance to go to the UW, likely with marginal grades, and still blew it. Â
armed? with a gun ? gun, god, hummm, lol . i see who speaks louder. no, not funny :[
Ha! Here is some dirt on the Huskies. For you Cougar haters, stick it!!!! This one is for you.Â
Hey, really folks...don't try smearing their mother for their adult-decision-making. Â That kind of ad hominem commentary is not terribly funny, or accurate. Â I'm sure if the mother had issues relating to her work with the police KOMO would surely have pointed it out...as they went so far to point out that Zach's older brother Johri has a pending assault charge. Â This is just a sad and pathetic set of circumstances, but ones that Zach and Zach alone is responsible for. Â Not his mother
@Beacon in the LIberal Fog no one but himself was on his mind ! that too i bet he was lacking.
I see the SPD apple don't fall far from the tree
Some people will make the wrong decisions no matter how many opportunities in life they are given.
@SeaRick S or what drugs they r doing, do ,why else would he do this? this cant be from a sound straight mind , oh, the government lacks mental help,, forgive me for not thinking of that excuse. yep, here's the heads up,,, the postal put upon one , beyond a needle in a hay stack . boy is this ever going to be a wrinkle to iron out of humanity !
awesome.. lernin them thar hoods howw to get sum ejewmakashun
Good job KOMO ......any chance you can take a shot at SPD you take it. This officers kids are old enough to know better but your hatred of all SPD gets old. Nice how you report about your staffers that get in trouble............oh yeah you don't.
@lakeunion oh ya what a huge shot and blow to the SPD..... they must be devastated....Â
@lakeunion What was a shot at SPD...??? The mother must be heart broken....
@clem77  @lakeunion  Clem77  KOMO only does positive stories on SPD officers that die in the line of duty..........they hate all SPD officers with a passion and get their stories from money grubbing lawyers that show one sided edited videos that are meant to make all SPD officers look bad.
