Human remains found off Snohomish County trail are of Seattle man

Human remains found by hikers last Saturday by the Boulder Creek Trail in north Snohomish County have been identified by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.

The remains are of Greg Keller, who was 58 when he disappeared in Oct. 2009, Shari Ireton of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said.

Keller failed to return home after he told friends that he planned to camp between Darrington and Granite Falls near the Mountain Loop Highway.

His friends notified authorities at the time and Snohomish County Search and Rescue Unit conducted an extensive two-day search of the area but did not find him.
