Inmate dies in Snohomish County Jail

EVERETT, Wash. -- A 41-year-old inmate at the Snohomish County Jail died Friday morning.
The man had been housed in the medical facility and when staff went to check on him, they found he wasn't breathing.
Medics were called to the scene but attempts to revive the inmate were not successful.
Officials did not give a cause of death and are still investigating the incident. The inmate's name was not released.
Two other inmates have died at the facility in the past year. William Williams, 59, died in jail on the night of Sept. 14 after jail staff Tased and put him in an isolation cell.
And in July, a 22-year-old inmate died after reportedly suffering an allergic reaction to milk.

Sue the county. They have a legal responsibility for the safety and care of their prisoners. If they fail at that the only way things will change is if it costs them money. In the land of capitalism the only thing that talks is money.
I really think ShawnLee is upset....read below. I guess we shouldn't poke fun at culling the herd.
Shawn lee is a classless tranny.
@Gunnartheviking You're a classless tranny, "solider" (And I say that in a mocking way). I think all the swearing may have been a bit much, but Truly Loved made a heartless comment and deserved my wrath and the Shawn Lee's. Just because someone is in jail, it does not make them a bad person. Did you know you can go to jail for hundreds of STUPID things... Minor in Consumption of alcohol (being drunk at a party underage= 7 days in jail... that's insane) and other petty things like that. So don't judge when you don't know the facts, fool.Â
Rainbows and good in everyone. But everyone who does not agree with you is stupid. Spoken like a true butt hurt dweller. Please Google image. Iâm sure it is you. Have nice weekend.
keepthe peace LOLÂ
Many officers who have served tours in Iraq and/or Afghanistan brings back with them two types of profiles: Â The first profile are those who have become cold and ruthless. Â They are taking down unarmed fellow Americans with no remorse as if they are were hostile war combatants. Â The second profile are those who are suffering from PTSD and/or depression and/or anxiety. Â They may be doing fine one minute; however, their mental disorders can be triggered in a second by an event or actions of others.
The tasing gun manufactures have alerted law enforcement that any of the following conditions puts subjects at high risks for cardiac arrest: (1)if tased in the chest, (2)If a subject has heart trouble (3) If drugs have been consumed (4) If the subject has consumed alcohol; however, in jails and prisons the majority of tazing deaths occur from head injuries caused from falling and hitting their heads on steel or concrete. These deaths are preventable. Whenever it is decided that an inmate is to be tortured with high voltage for the purpose of getting a confession or because they have been non-cooperative, there needs to be a room dedicated for that purpose. The walls and floor should be patted with at least 3 inch mats.
and some swallow drugs or try to hide them in their mouths putting on a good show so the cops cant tell or save their lives hummmm
Way to cut the budget, one less bill to pay. And this is news who cares.Â

@Shawn Lee @trulyloved I agree with Shawn Lee. Truly Loved your comment is heartless. You have no idea what they're even in jail for you idiot! Not ALL people in jail are bad people, heck most are good people that just made poor choices, or a costly mistake. I knew someone in jail that was a great person, good job and loving family.. he was in jail because of a 2 year old un paid parking ticket that he long forgot about, he was in there for 43 days (I was in for 3 days for lieing to a cop about something I witnessed). You have no idea, but your rude and inconsiderate comments are not needed.Â
Time for someone to sue the Snohomish Couty Jail for a couple of hundred million. Money is the only thing anyone understands any more. They have a legal responsibility to provide a reasonably safe place to go to trial or do their time. If people are dieing in custody then sue.
@Blindman That's like saying I'm going to sue 'Blindman' because he doesn't know how to spell 'dying' (see 'dieing' above).
.......? Exactly. Just spilled hot coffee on my leg. I'm not 'dieing', but i'm sure as heck going to sue! After all, it's Starbucks fault that I was typing and drinking coffee at the same time...right?
I'm sure the family will want to hit the jack pot and sue the county over some BS allegations.
Komo only reports about the trash in this world. Who cares! Â An murderer, rapist, thief, died today. Â Big Flipping Deal! Â
@CBÂ Again, another ignorant comment by a clear dipsh**. CB, you are a cold, heartless bastard aren't you? I guess you've never made one mistake in your life.. man, you must be Mr. or Mrs. Perfect, I want to meet you and get your autograph cuz you're the only perfect person I've met in my life. We should notify ABC so you can tell the world how perfect you are. YOU JERK! Â YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY'RE IN FOR. It could be a petty crime (loitering, drinking, shoplifting, lieing, whatever). A lot of the crimes people go to jail for are un-intended and mistakes most people make every single day, but are not always caught for.Â
Yeah, so eat that you dirtbag!Â
@CB When did Napoleonic Law go into effect? Silly me, I thought our system was based on English Law where a defendant was innocent until proven guilty.
@CBÂ - - A L L E G E D - - Â "murderer, rapist, thief" Â
"Medics were called to the scene but attempts to revive the inmate were not successful.'"...I wonder what that may have looked like. If they truly attempted of halfheartedly went about it.
@aintno1special I don't know to many medics who don't give their all no matter who they are working on- I once knew a medic who had to revive his wifes BF (he was on duty when he was called to the scene of an accident he had suspected she was cheating- they were still together), and he did his job without thought to who he was working on.Â
Not to mention all of us Viet Nam medics who worked just as hard on the VC wounded as our own. Why? Because we were medics and not dealers of "justice".
@aintno1special Doesn't really matter at this point. Obviously they don't have an infirmary in the jail, its just another unstaffed  closet. The staff in the medical facility should be fired.
