JBLM Stryker soldier dies from wounds suffered in Afghanistan

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD -- A 23-year-old Stryker soldier who was injured in a blast in Afghanistan earlier this month has died.
The Department of Defense says Sgt. Louis R. Torres of Oberlin, Ohio died Wednesday in San Antonio. He had been injured by an explosive device on Aug. 6 in Kandahar.
Torres was was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Torres entered the Army in 2008 and had been in Afghanistan since December. It was his second deployment, having also served in Iraq for nearly a year.

Another human being with an entire life ahead of him dead. For what? Seriously?
And wasn't it just yesterday that some were complaining that KOMO was "ignoring" the war and the price we are paying?
They simply weren't paying attention...
