Judge: FBI report no alibi in 1957 slaying case
SYCAMORE, Ill. (AP) — A judge says a Seattle man charged in the 1957 kidnapping and slaying of a 7-year-old Illinois girl can't use old FBI records to bolster his alibi.
Lawyers for Jack McCullough say FBI records show that a military recruiter said McCullough was in Chicago taking a physical the day Maria Ridulph disappeared from the small town of Sycamore.
The (DeKalb) Daily Chronicle reported Tuesday that Kane County Associate Jude James Hallock ruled the records were based on hearsay rather than firsthand observations from police officers.
Maria disappeared in December 1957 and her remains were found the following April about 120 miles away.
The 72- year-old McCullough has pleaded not guilty. His trial starts Monday, and the judge will decide the case.

** If ** it turns out that his alibi was bogus and he is found guilty of this crime I hope he gets the maximum penalty and then double that!!! No time off for good behaviour. No darn insanity plea! This animal has lived 55 years FREE to live his life how he chooses, and this little girl lost her life because of this monster (if found guilty). I wonder if her parents or siblings are alive to see this scum get what he deserves so many years later. Disgusting!
