Kittitas County town near fire ordered evacuated
WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) - Kittitas County authorities have ordered evacuations for residents in the town of Liberty and some forest areas as wildfires in the Table Mountain area merged and grew to nearly 4 square miles.
Fire officials say that in addition to Liberty, the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest east of State Highway 97 and the Naneum State Forest were ordered evacuated Saturday. Natural resources department officials had ordered the state forest closed earlier in the day to help firefighters.
The wildfire complex is among several large fires burning across dry Washington state. Just a day earlier, Gov. Chris Gregoire signed an emergency declaration for all counties east of the Cascade Mountains.
More than 100 fires are burning in Kittitas and Yakima counties after lightning strikes last week.)

I've been in Liberty several times, an interesting place with a long history of gold mining. Not a lot of people there though. I hope their houses come through OK.

We need the Fall rains to start but there is no sign of them yet!
@LNSeveN I'm loving the sun and warm weather but I agree we need some rain ASAP, hopefully without any more lightning.Â
