Mail semi truck crashes into 4 construction trucks on I-5
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Luckily no one was seriously hurt when a semi truck hauling mail careened into several construction trucks parked along the shoulder of the southbound lanes of I-5 in Federal Way Monday evening.
The Washington State Patrol says it was just after 9 p.m. when the mail truck crashed into another truck that was putting out lane barrels for a road project at SR-18.
The impact sent the barrel truck into another parked construction truck while the semi continued on, striking two more construction vehicles.
The semi then came to rest on the on-ramp from SR-18, which had been closed for the construction.
All of the damaged vehicles were leaking diesel fuel and the Department of Ecology was called to the scene to assist in the cleanup.
Investigators were still trying to determine why the semi truck crashed into the other vehicles.
