Man arrested after allegedly firing gun in argument with roommate

SEATTLE -- Officers arrested a man on suspicion of domestic violence Monday night after he allegedly fired multiple shots into his Capitol Hill apartment's ceiling during an argument with his roommate.
Officers were called to the apartment in the 1700 block of Bellevue Avenue around 8:30 p.m.
According to the Seattle Police Department, they met the victim while he was coming down the apartment stairs, and he told them his roommate was still in the apartment with two other people.
Officers continued up the stairs and heard another shot from inside the apartment, according to police. They arrested the suspect when he came out a few seconds later.
According to police, the suspect, who was drunk, told officers he and his roommate were arguing and he was pointing his gun in the air when it "went off."
The 33-year-old was booked into King County Jail for investigation of felony harassment.
Fortunately for all involved, the apartment is located on the top floor of the building, and no one was shot.
$5 says drugs involved somewhere.
My guess is that this zombie did not have the lawful right to own the firearm in the first place. Another one of "them" just showing us how stupid they are.
What goes up must come down, what a moron. Anyone who thinks its ever *safe* to shoot up in the air needs to have their brain checked.
Wonder how much water damage they are going to get as a result of the now leaky roof... What an idiot... Alcohol and guns do mix pretty good, when you want to get all the grease and oils off when cleaning, (so you can apply fresh stuff), but not drinking the alcohol, and then cleaning or using them...
More responsible gun owners.Â
This idiot will get what he deserves. Never pull a gun in anger.
@Blindman or while drunk!
Hey, why are we being so hard on the guy? We all know gun fire is the only way to resolve an argument, right? </sarcasm>
Especially when you have been drinking...LOLÂ
A felony conviction will lose this fool his gun rights--if he hasn't lost them from a prior stupid act already.
@IconoclastYeah but then the soft-hearted liberal judges and parole boards will let him out of prison fast and he'll start offending again.
@NW-Economist He likely won't serve any prison time. But he will be punished severely by his record in the future. I don't know that society would be better off by spending the money to imprison this fool.
@NW-EconomistÂ
He will be punished, but I doubt he will be locked up. That is all. He will lose his gun rights and he may have a felony on his record going forward (at least a gross misdemeanor). He will pay a fine and be forced to do community service while on probation.
Given the circumstances, that seems reasonable to me. No one was harmed and there wasn't even an attempt to harm anyone. Should society spend money to keep this guy in jail for a (presumed) first offense?
@Iconoclast @NW-EconomistWrong. Anyone who uses a firearm for violence should be locked up forever. if you disagree with that then you are just feeding the arguments of the anti-gun interests.Â
@NW-Economist @Iconoclast More likely the prosecutor will allow him to plead to a lesser charge to avoid a trial. But you go ahead and blame the liberals, it's what you do best.Â
@lakeview @IconoclastOh, nothing to say? Yet you keep spouting off how you are always right everywhere else?Â
*crickets*
@lakeview @NW-Economist @IconoclastAs usual you are wrong AGAIN.

"â¢Washington state reported a 31% jump during the same period."
Drunk + Gun = Bad.
Idiot
No No No! The "Biden defense" only works if you have a double barreled shotgun, and you fire off a couple of blasts off of the balcony...not into the ceiling.
and only if you are a female...
Just exercising his second amendment rights, certainly trustworthy with a gun.
