Lynnwood police make arrest in fatal hit-and-run crash

SEATTLE -- Police arrested a 29-year-old Lynnwood man Monday in connection with Thursday night hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian.
Police say the driver, who has not been identified, hit a man who was walking across Highway 99 in Lynnwood just after 10:30 p.m. last Thursday. Instead of stopping, the man turned around and drove away heading northbound, according to police.
The victim was taken Harborview Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
Using leads from several community members, police were able to track down the vehicle from the crash at a south Lynnwood residence on Saturday. Police say the car, which is registered to the suspect, had obvious signs of damage.
Police arrested the suspect Monday in Shoreline. The man, who police say has a "significant criminal history," will be booked into Snohomish County jail Monday evening for felony hit-and-run resulting in a fatality.

Enough time for this felon to go home and sober up! Put him away forever...a senseless crime like this WOULD not have happened if he was in fact in prison on all of his felony charges. If I was this guy's family, I'd sue Wade and his family for the dirt they sleep on.
 @TacoBat1niner I'm not big on felons, but I'm not big on idiots running in front of you when they're crossing hwy 99 either. I'll agree to prison for life because of all his felony charges though. He shouldn't be out - he's not mature enough to be in society. He needs does need prison for his babysitting agency for life.
Why do we continue to play the game of letting chronic criminals back out onto the street and pretend that everything is magically OK now that they have served their prescribed little sentence? This guy sounds like a total scumbag and now he has killed someone. Â
Knew it wouldn't be long. Can't hide. And now we know why he ran. Scum!
"Police say the driver, who has not been identified,..."
Â
Why not? Where's his mug shot? What's his name?
 @TheTruncheon Might require them to step away from the red light camera monitors long enough to interface with the press.
1) Didn't volunteer to come forward
2) Wouldn't have if it killed him first
3) Whoever knew about it, and if anybody harbored him - throw the book at all of them!!!
Maybe it is 15 strikes and you are out.
 @None Unfortunately, we can't even get that lucky in this state.
@None O.A.C.

Is this finally "Three Strikes"? Doesn't seem like he's learned from his mistakes.
 @Ned One can always hope.
I am truly surprised. I figured the Lynnwood cops were too busy ticketing right-turn-on-red drivers to do any real police work.
 @Glassman Lynnwood has traffic cops...but they also have the kind who won't sleep until a guy like this is caught. Slag them all you want...they'll still be there when you need them.
 @seatown No, they won't. I live on the fringe of that decrepit town and see them on a daily basis nailing right-on-red turners when they are not sitting in the Starbucks across from Best Buy. I have called them for trouble at the Alderwood Boys and Girls club and either never saw them at all, or waited as long as an hour and a half for them to show.Â
They have been very public with their admission of being reliant on red-light camera revenue. This is so they can sit on their backsides and rake in the revenue and not have to actually interface with the citizens.
 @Glassman  @seatown Red light tickets, the ones you speak of, are not administrated by Lynnwood Police officers.  That said, I'd rather see the police responding to situations that you allude too instead of sitting on a motorcycle with a radar gun.
I am very glad they caught him. He's probably had time to sober up.

29 years old with a significant criminal history. Sad. What a waste of lives.
