Wow listen to all you people rant & rave....has anyone stopped to consider that this is still a human being....that someone may have loved this person. Yes this is Renton & Valley Medical Center happens to be an excellent hosptial with well trained ER staff. Get a grip people!!!!!!!!!!!
This place is right up the street from Valley Medical Center, but they took the guy to Harborview? Â Why not get him to the closest place to stabilize him first, THEN move him? Â This tells me that Valley Medical Center isn't equipped to handle emergency trauma very well. Â Not a lot of confidence there....
@Michael Merry Harborview is a trauma center, when a patient is critical time is of the essence.. going directly to the trauma center offers  the best chance of survival. They are equipped for those type injuries. vs other hospitals.    Trauma centers don't wait for symtoms they anticipate them and take measures to actively rule them out / treat.   An example is a artery bleed, or damage to the heart there is no way to stabilize the injury.. it needs surgery .. ASAP. They take measurs to keep the patient alive until they can get into a surgery room. Trauma centers have surgery rooms ready to go at moments notice.Â
Â
Summerhill was convicted of discrimination about a year ago, a federal offinse. Â So now they have to accept everyone under the sun. Â So you can't even blame the owner in this situation...
Bad people are everywhere. Â You can't blame it on one area of town, or one apartments or one company.
@fishwife
@fishwife I would say the people who live there decide. In this case I would agree with Zozso. I lived in a nice area that turnd Quickly into a sh**t hole until we took it back. You'd be surprised how fast the bad seed runs when the slightest challenge comes.
 @fishwife Normally I would agree with that, but this apartment complex is literally a piece of crap of deadbeat losers! There have already been 3 shootings there in the last couple years or so, not to mention the weird, possibly drug addicted losers I've seen come and gone from there.
 @Zoso  @fishwife Prior shootings were at the Aviator Apts, across the street from Summerhill - and that was a few years ago when it was under a different name and owner.  Although Summerhill is an older apartment complex, it's very quiet and most residents who live there have been there for 15+ years. Ask the PD.  And get your facts straight. . .Â
 @David326 I've looked up reviews, I get my crime reports, I get updates when stuff happens in the area which does come from RPD, and they do come from that area. Not to mention I've heard from locals who live closer to there than I do who will tell you the same thing. I don't know the shootings you're referring to but the ones I'm talking about were definitely more recent than that, so don't be telling me to get my facts straight.
 @Zoso  @fishwife Whoa!!! Actually the shootings in the past have had nothing to do with the residents of Summerhill. All of the 'activity' came from across the street from Sunset Vista--They have now cleaned the whole place up. Summerhill houses many professionals who work at Boeing and Microsoft, lots of families and retired folk. I have been living here for 5 years and haven't met anyone who is 'a piece of crap.'
Technically outside of the city limits of Renton, so we'll chalk this up to Fairwood.
 @wsmith_84 No, Summerhill Apts are right across from the Shari's and Benson Plaza Fred Meyer (I drive by there on a daily basis) .This is Renton and never has been considered Fairwood. Fairwood is about 4-5 miles east of this area.
 @rightandexact Actually it's 2 miles, but who's counting? But yeah, that's exactly where it's at!
 @wsmith_84 Fairwood became part of Renton earlier this year. I know because I live in Fairwood and am pretty bummed about being annexed into Renton.Â
 @PrairieDawn  @wsmith_84 Geesh people - how is it possible to be so out of touch?  Fairwood is in unincorporated King County - you're not within the City Limits of Renton.  Yes it went to vote - more than once - but you remain in the KCSO jurisdiction.  Which means little to no police coverage.  Good call residents - enjoy your ever increasing crime rate.
@David326 @PrairieDawn @wsmith_84 The bigger worry was that as part of Renton and so far from the city center that there would little to no Renton police presence in Fairwood.
@PrairieDawn @wsmith_84 I live in Fairwood Greens and we are not part of Renton (yet!)
Â
 @Larrygg @cawlnaduckaduck That's right! They voted on it 2 years ago and it failed. Fairwood has NOT been annexed!
@cawlnaduckaduck Agree totally, as I wrote above, we are not Renton, yet!
@Larrygg As King County continues to implement budget cuts on services, Fairwood will continue to have that annexation monkey on their back.
@cawlnaduckaduck BTW, Fairwood is unincorporated King County, not Renton.
Â
@cawlnaduckaduck
I was for the incorporation of Fairwood. I feel that the property values would be better as Fairwood than Renton. Maybe I am wrong, but I can tell you that working up in Bellevue and Redmond for the past 16 years and mentioning that I live in "Renton", people wince with the mention of Renton. I believe that based on the Fairwood cityhood election and the Renton Annexation that people want neither but want to be part of Renton less based on the vote on each initiative.
@Larrygg Fairwood is unincorporated Renton which means it is serviced by King County not by the "City of Renton." Fairwood is NOT a City. Attempts to annex Fairwood and for Fairwood to become their own City have failed. Fairwood residents feel that their **** don't stink enough to be incorporated by the City of Renton yet they don't have the tax revenue to "put on their big boy pants" and become a "real" City.
 @wsmith_84 No, it's Renton. Benson/Cascade annexed March 1, 2008. This is north of the Benson Plaza, that's nowhere near Fairwood.
The Summerhill again? What the hell's going on over there? For the record, this is not a bad part of Renton here around Benson, but that complex is a whole different story!
 @Zoso (see my comment above).  This guy probably pulled over for a drug deal and it didn't go quite the way he expected.  Just because it happened in the area of the complex, doesn't mean he lived there.  This is looking more and more like a drug rip.  If you want FACTS about Summerhill contact the RPD for crime stats.  If you want to continue to spread gossip, then carry on. . . .Â
 @Zoso It starts with the owner and property management. What the h*ll is up with them? Who is looking into that?
 @Citizen#3457899654 EXACTLY!!!
