Man dies after being struck by car in Rainier Valley

SEATTLE - A pedestrian died Thursday night after he was hit by a car near Seattle's Rainier Valley.
The man, who was in his 50s, was hit just before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Myrtle Street, according to Kyle Moore of the Seattle Fire Department.
Moore said medics "spent a long time trying to save the man" at the scene, but he eventually succumbed to his injuries. A medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
The victim was the fourth pedestrian struck by a car while crossing a Rainier Valley thoroughfare and the second to have been killed in just one month.
Last week, an 86-year-old woman was struck by a light rail train while she was crossing Martin Luther King Jr. Way South at South Graham Street using a walker, officials said.

I understand this might be a "developing story" & info could be limited but ... is this another hit & run? Or did the driver stop & is cooperating? DUI? Victim in the crosswalk? Not very many answers here.
Condolences to the family.
That location is not really Beacon Hill. Â More like between Beacon Hill and Rainer Valley. Â I've noticed KOMO seems location challenged. Â Another article lists the location of a shooting as Seward Park and it's really Rainer Beach. Â Editors use google maps.
Too many of these articles on this site scare the crap out of me: I know too many people in the areas mentioned in the headlines ... seems like every day.
