Man dies of injuries from Shoreline hit-and-run crash

SHORELINE, Wash. - A 60-year-old Seattle man died has died from injuries he suffered in a hit-and-run crash in Shoreline on Feb. 19, officials said.
The man was walking across the 14600 block of Aurora Avenue North at roughly 6:45 p.m. that day when he was hit by a white work van, said Sgt. Cindi West of the King County sheriff's office.
Witnesses told deputies the van, which was driven by a Hispanic man, pulled into a nearby Jiffy Lube parking lot after the crash, but drove away moments later before police arrived.
Police and emergency workers arrived soon afterward and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where he was initially listed in "very critical condition." He died Thursday night.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a white full-size van, possibly a Ford or Chevrolet, with a work rack on top. The van probably has damage on the right front corner and the headlamp was broken during the accident, West said.
She said witnesses reported seeing two Latin men in the van. One was said to have a full goatee beard.
Anyone with information about the suspects' vehicle is asked to call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311.

This is to be expected when your state turns a blind eye to illegal immigration. Fleeing accidents because they fear deportation or citizens paying for their own autobody repairs because the illegals don't have insurance. I just wish the victims of illegal immigrants would begin suing cities or states, placing the blame on them for their lax immigration policies. Maybe then we would see them doing what they're supposed to do.
Two Latino's you don't say... better find and check their immigration status....my money is two illegals, and this countries lax immigration laws allowed them to first get here... and then drive... and then kill a man... if these guys are dumb enough to still be around here and not running for the boarder I'll say 'the hunt is on!'
@Freespeech That would be country's (possessive) and border (edge).
@Furd @Freespeech Isn't it truly fascinating how many virulent right-wing posters here cannot seem to spell much more than their own names... if that?
@Furd I've has suspicions of more like under age 14... and skipping English class at middle school.
@JLS1950 There are plenty of virulent left-wing posters that are just as bad. I suspect most of them are under the age of forty and had poor schooling.
Busy street and jaywalking not a good combo.
Driver should have stayed still. Now he is a criminal because he probably was intoxicated and/or illegal.
Sorry for the families involved. This story is how many weeks old and the press can't tell us if he was jaywalking? 146th and Aurora doesn't have any cross walks last time I checked. Isn't that 6 lanes of traffic now? Just a bad idea if he was. That said I see a lot of contractor van's in huge hurries and almost everyone of them are constantly yapping on their mobile phones. The POS that hit this guy and ran should be hung from a tree regardless of whether the guy was jay walking!Â
So was the person jaywalking? Am sorry someone lost their life but walking across Aurora is a crapshoot esp if you aren't at a light. Seems like every month there is someone struck crossing Aurora. FWIW too, after dark, it's difficult to see people cross because they wait and then dart out. Many of them don't wear reflective/light clothing. Am not justifying a hit and run by any means but this whole jaywalking across Aurora thing has to stop. If that's what this was, of course.
So sorry that this man lost his life to this callus killer. Hope the driver is found and sent to prison for 20 years to life.
@Ned 20 years to life for Dr. Scholl??
@sleever  Ya think it should be "callous"?  :-)  Ned's heart is in the right place, though.
