Man rams ex-wife's home with truck, shoots her in hand
COVINGTON, Wash. -- A Kent man rammed his truck into his ex-wife's home early Thursday morning, then shot her in the hand. The man fled and then apparently later committed suicide some 50 miles away, police said.
The incident began around 3:30 a.m. when Deon Fisher drove through a front window and several feet into the home in the 15300 block of SE 307th, officials said.
"He goes in the house starts firing shots, looking for his ex-wife," said Sgt. Cindi West with King County Sheriff's Office.
Fisher soon found his ex-wife then shot her in the hand. After wounding her, Fisher sped off, police said. Deputies tried to catch up to the man but he was lost in the Maple Valley area.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her wound. West says their three children, ages 10 to 18, were also in the house but managed to escape injury.
"I understand a couple jumped out the back window when he came into the house, another stayed and hid inside the house," West said.
Later Thursday, Snohomish County sheriff's deputies say they found the man's truck about 9 a.m. at the Lake Serene Trailhead, just off of Highway 2.
Sultan, and then discovered the body of a man nearby who had apparently committed suicide.
King County sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West says their investigators are working under the assumption it's Fisher, but it will be up to the medical examiner to confirm the body's identity.
The couple divorced in 2009, and documents show that the victim recently applied for a protection order against Fisher. A judge denied the request.

Divorce causes all kinds of weird behavior. So does a cheating spouse.

Good, no messy trial.
Not that a restraining order would have stopped this from happening. A restraining order only allows the police to arrest the guy *when* (not if!) he violates the order. Approximately 90% of restraining orders are violated, and some of those violations result in murder. They almost never actually stop contact.
@pax Furthermore, a restraining order can serve to just escalate a situation....the removal of one's rights when a restraining order is placed on a person can serve to "push that person over the edge" and the person who may have just walked away may now hunt down the person who wronged them and seek "revenge". It doesn't make anybody safer, victimizes innocent people when false allegation are made, and escalates a situation that calls for defusing anger. In the end, the only thing that a person can do to protect themselves from a violent person who wants to harm them is to make sure they have the tools and training to defend themselves. Namely a gun and classes on how to use it. Because you can be sure the police will show up too late to help.

When the potential for death is just moments, or a split second away, anyone but oneself is an eternity away.
Â
Pack, in case of attack..
Good thing he only shot her in the hand, hey, Judge?
Â
Looks like the judge who denied the request made a bad decision on this one. I'm very glad the wife and children survived.
We need to put a ban on those automobiles!
It is a bit disconcerting that a judge recently did not see there was enough of a threat from this same man to grant even a temporary restraining order. Which is not to say that it would have done a lick of good of course. But, between his anger/violence and suicidal mind-set....it makes you wonder.
@Thunder You never know with Judges. They may have a weird leaning and denied an order knowing the person may go nuts. Looks good for their cause if the guy does go ballistic and shoots someone. See. Just one more example of gun violence, blah blah BAN blah blah blah GUNS,,,,
After fastnfurious I wouldn't put anything past anyone.
Seriously though, can anyone explain this sentence or what it was suppossed to mean?
Â
"Sultan, and then discovered the body of a man nearby who had apparently committed suicide."Â
You'd have to consult the "Media Intern" operations manual.
@Throbbinhood  I'm not trying to be mean to KOMO staff or anything, but don't they read these articles or proofread them? The article has been updated already once, so you'd think they would see this. These kinds of mistakes make their operation look 2nd rate.Â
welcome to internet journalism, Editing ! who said anything about editing !
@lakeview If it was once in awhile, that is only to be expected. It really makes me question the integrity of the information in the articles when they can't even write and spell at the level of an elementary school child.
@lakeview Its called lack of professionalism
@lakeview It sort of makes you curious about the office and what goes on there, heh...
Little man with his truck and gun to make himself feel important.Â
@lakeview Markley's Law strikes again. What IS it with you and your obsession about what other guys think about their junk? Projection? Or deeper problems?
Good riddance to another POS! I sure hope the family can get over and through this mess. I'm sure they've been dealing with the POS for a long time.Â
@Elaine2 but maybe she is the pos. Perhaps she had an affair with her husband's friend and then continued the relationship after the seperation and she somehow got rights to the kids. don't be so quick to point fingers.
@sirgavin7 @Elaine2 Even if that was the case (which I highly doubt), it does not justify trying to murder the mother of your children -- especially when they are in the house.
she is not the POS. My mom was the one that helped the kids after they jumped over the ajjoining fence. He wanted nothing to do with theses kids a week ago and verbally told them that. I am just happy he is gone and instead of in prison, this way they can get Social Security to help with expenses such as counseling. Knowing the family personnaly they are very nice people and in now way deserved this. Maybe you should be the one not to point fingers so quickly.
@Donna dylanfisher,i know right some of the comments are mean

I'm assuming you didn't read the article. He tried to murder her. That makes him "the POS" by any reasonable standard.
@Sutekh  @sirgavin7  @Elaine2 It appears he did not try very hard
@sirgavin7  @Elaine2 If (and I have no idea whether those allegations are true or not) she was cheating on him, then of course that was very wrong. . . . but any infidelities this woman may or may not have committed doesn't justify having a truck run through the front of your home and being threatened and/or assaulted by your ex husband who is wielding a gun. Sorry, I don't like cheaters either, but it doesn't justify his actions.  And the kids had to witness this scene?  That is just really sickening to me.

Say what KOMO?Â
Reporter's last words are "kids are with neighbors and are OK" - no they are not OK. Their Dad just rammed their house, shot their mother and killed himself. They will never be OK.
@DLT Sometimes I think they outsource the reporting to some God forsaken third world country
@Harrison  @DLT The story always loses something when it goes to DC for editing and approval before it's release.
@Harrison You may be on to something there... It would explain a lot...
@DLT I believe the intent of the sentence was to notify the public that the children were not physically harmed in the violence. Just saying, if you're going to nit-pick ...
Glad the lady is okay and glad the guy offed himself. Thanks for saving our taxdollars
Blame it on the King County Judges, more than likely left this man was left with no options. Lost his house, Â vagina moany, and no visitation rights to his kids. But then again who knows?
@Tolly371 There are a lot of men who have gone through the same thing and didn't try to kill their own children and ex-wife. It's inexcusable behavior. Not saying that the courts and society are right to treat men that way, believe me, I'm mad as hell about it, but resorting to violence isn't the answer. Especially against one's own children.....the guy was mentally ill at best, a scumbag at worst.
It wasn't his house to lose. He had visitation however wanted nothing to do with his kids. I know them personnaly. This family did not desevere this. And whats with the Vagina Moany? They hadn't been together forever.
@Donna I was wondering the same thing. Vagina moany? Now I can't stop laughing.
Must be some special 'lady' to arouse that kind of passion LOL
Traumatic ending for the ex and the children, but they will not be bothered by this fellow again.
At least the ex-wife won't need a no-contact order and have to live in fear. Â Â
Last week there was a drive by shooting in Covington and tires slashed. I'm ready to get back to our quiet, safe little neighborhood.
 @NWGrown Good luck with that.
I ran his name in the KC district court. He has two court cases and both are divorces (so not a typical in and out of jail type as far as we know). In the 2009 divorce, he was just defaulted against. So I am wondering if he got visitations suspended and he flew off the handle. Not excusing what he did because obviously he was having some problems. Its just sad. I hope the ex-wife and children can get past this.
@Justmyside83 Somebodys got too much time on their hands.
@SandyBeach  @Justmyside83 At least somebody researches a little before they make a comment. Thats nice for a change.
@SandyBeach  @Justmyside83 But it is not the KOMO reporting staff, apparently.
Least he off'd himself and saved us the tax dollars to incarcerate his arse!
@Freespeech I wonder if he was paying alimony and or child support?
At least the ex-wife and kids won't have to worry about being terrorized by this monster anymore.
@The WA Mama It still leaves big scars if your dad went like that.
@Komo Dragon Absolutely - I agree with you 100%. I hope that a good qualified therapist will step up and offer free counseling for the family -- not just a session or two, but however long is needed.
