STANWOOD, Wash. - A worker was seriously injured Friday when he became trapped under a log at a Snohomish County tree farm.

Aid agencies responded to the scene, the Pilchuck Tree Farm near Stanwood, at about noon after receiving a report of a logging accident. Rescuers were able to get the 25-year-old man out from under the log, then strapped him onto a stretcher.

Due to the rugged terrain and the seriousness of the worker's injuries, the Snohomish County sheriff's SnoHawk helicopter was used to hoist the worker from the accident scene and transport him to Providence Medical Center in Everett.

Details of how the accident happened and the victim's condition were not immediately available.
