Man stabbed outside Planned Parenthood in Oregon
GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) - A confrontation outside a southern Oregon Planned Parenthood health center on Tuesday ended with a protester stabbing another man, police said.
Earlier in the day, a woman argued with the demonstrator outside the health center. She returned later with a man who then attacked the protester, Grants Pass police Lt. Dennis Ward said.
The man was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and at least once in the neck, police said. There was no immediate word on his condition.
The demonstrator had signs denouncing abortion and Planned Parenthood, but Planned Parenthood for Southwestern Oregon spokeswoman Sarah Mosely said the clinic only provides health services, and doesn't perform abortions.
"We don't have a lot of details," she said. "It just appears to be a tragic situation. Our thoughts are with the people who have been injured and their loved ones."
Police handcuffed the protester, who had blood on his clothing, the Grants Pass Daily Courier reports. The protester was being detained during the investigation, Ward said.
Police didn't immediately release the name of either man.
Neighbor Charlotte Cook said the protester would accost people coming and going through the area.
"It was an accident looking for a place to happen," she said.
Cherie Adams said he would yell obscenities at her when she walked past him, and she changed her route to work.
"He's been out there for months," she said. "He's screaming at people.
"I had a feeling something like this would happen."

Of course it's a protestor. Funny how the so-called 'baby killers' are the more peace loving people, while the 'good Christian soldiers' are the ignorant sheep more likely to spring to random violence. Pathetic.
 @dgruntled Right, apparently you didn't pass English class.....if you had any reading comprehension skills, you'd know that the protestor was attacked first by the man the woman went to get, because she couldn't do it herself, and the man defended himself with a knife. Sounds like the "baby killers" are the ones springing to violence here.

I have seen these protestors before and some are absolutely disgusting. A few years ago I heard about a 12 year old girl who had been molested by her uncle since she was 5 who ended up pregnant. She was taken to a PPH for an abortion and they had protestors outside screaming "baby killer" and holding up pictures of fetuses. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! No i do not believe in abortion on most occassions BUT there are exceptions to the rule and to sit there and torment someone who has already been tormented her whole life without knowing WHY is completely inexcusable.

I'm sorry but it sounds like the woman went and got a guy to come attack the man....she was too big a wimp herself to do the duty. Once the guy was jumped for exercising his 1A rights he defended himself. Perhaps a bit too vigorously...I don't know the disparity of force involved. But the fact that the man who came into the scene later attacked the protester who had not harmed anybody up to that point makes the man the aggressor, and the protestor the victim here. You can really hate whatever someone has to say but that doesn't give you the right to touch them, period.

The police lieutenant used the word "attacked", so I would think that the term was used to describe a physical attack of some sort. Whether or not the attack justified a potentially lethal defense remains to be seen. Clearly the officers on the scene felt that there was enough of a question about the protestor's actions to detain him--and likely charge him.

 @Sid Vishess Might be updates. The copy now states that the confrontation "...ended with a protester stabbing another man..." It doesn't say anything about who began the altercation. The second paragraph states that the protestor was attacked by the woman's friend.
