Man stabbed twice during knife fight on Belltown sidewalk

SEATTLE - A 45-year-old man was stabbed twice in the torso Thursday morning during a fight on the sidewalk in Belltown, and a suspect was apprehended with his face covered in blood, officials said.
The incident unfolded at about 3:40 a.m. when an officer on patrol saw the 45-year-old and another man fighting near the southwest corner of 3rd Avenue and Bell Street. As he rolled up, the two men stopped fighting.
The 45-year-old man was found to have two puncture wounds to his torso. Medics responded to the scene and transported him to Harborview Medical Center. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The other man, in his 20s, had a bloody face from injuries sustained during the fight. The injuries were not caused by a knife or other sharp instrument, but the man was taken to Harborview for treatment of minor injuries.
There was no knife recovered at the scene. However, a witness told officers that a third man was seen walking away from the two fighters and may have had the weapon. This third person is unidentified and remains at large.
The incident remains under investigation.

I'm sure it was a small misunderstanding at 3:40 A.M. and got a little heated as one supported gay marriage and the other did not, Can't we just get along?
"When seconds count, the police are only *minutes* away..."
Ban all knives too.
Looks like the older gentleman went 'OldSkool' on the young punk. Too bad he got cut though. He should be proud for giving the young hoodlum a well deserved major beatdown. Please show the hoodlum with the cowardly bloody face.
Bell Town has always been a tough place. Even in the 50's and 60's it was a district with seedy bars and drunk sailors and the such.
 @Telman@ Tough neighborhood at certain spots or after hours.  Everything else is well hidden just like in other neighborhoods.  I enjoy living in Belltown.  It was once known as Bell's Town (in reference to Belltown Cornichon's vibrant response), so no worries if you have the words separated.Â
 @Telman@ Dude, it's Belltown, one word. Third & Bell's a tough corner, but not what I'd call "seedy." Come down for a stroll some evening, there's nothing threatening about Belltown unless you feel uncomfortable around people of color, homeless people, or inebriates. Or look at it this way: we could move two or three people off the Belltown sidewalk and plant them in your neighborhood. What say?
 @Belltown Cornichon  @Telman@ they put up new condos and apartments, but it didn't change the fact that Belltown was and is a violent part of town. Drugs,prostitution, and violent crime will continue to be staples until steps are taken by the community and police to change.
That area in Seattle needs an officer armed with a flamethrower to incinerate the subhuman garbage gathering there.....
@Funky-Munky But then we'd get riots. Just like the riots in Anaheim, crying over a worthless POS gangbanger.
 @WSU ARNP I wasn't aware there was a MO released for that guy. Do you have a link?
Heck, this was no knife fight, it was just Obama care starting early. The 45 year old was complaining about the shoddy service provided by the 20 something year old health care worker and the scalpel for the operation was just being taken away to be cleaned.
 @Beam_Me_Up Double your dosage
@Larry*X*K @Beam_Me_Up Learn to understand humor. :)
 @WSU ARNP  @Beam_Me_Up Sorry, not everyone has a sick sense a humor like you two boneheads.
Ban all knives! Isn't that what the liberal media preaches every time someone commits an act like this?
 @JeepRex Blabbity blabbity blahhhhh - You sound like a parrot.
@JeepRex Actually I have not heard of one single case where the "liberal media" has preached. Not one. I invite you to cite your claim however. Seems like there is always one person that has to inject politics into a story that has absolutely nothing to do with that. Stick to the subject.
Ban knives!!
Â
All knife owners cannot have the knife until a 2 day waiting period has been met. Before the purchase of any knife the owner much show proof of proper knife safety training. All knife owners are subject to a background check including a complete mental and medical evaluation during the 2 Day wait period. Wait periods will be longer depending on how long it takes you to get in to see a qualified Obamacare medical provider.Â
Why is Belltown such a ghetto? I thought the developers and the politicians who supported them, want to make the area a "world class" neighborhood, urban and sophisticated. But, it's become a pit.Â
@GeorgeG. You obviously don't live in Belltown. I do and have for 7 years and believe me, it is not a pit.
You are so right...I've worked downtown for more than 1/2 my life (way more than 7 years), & Belltown is way worse than a pit. Stop giving pits a bad name.
Thats funny I don't care who you are.
@GeorgeG. it is "world class". They just picked the wrong part of the world to emulate.
Well at least Seattle is getting something for its higher cost of living! More Violence! Let's just hope it doesn't bring down those property values too much! I don't know many people who will pay $1,200 for a one bedroom in a war zone!
@Seattlebcc War zone? I must have missed that as I have lived here the past 7 years. Do you live in Belltown? Where is the war zone? Â I would say that the central District and Rainer Valley are much more of a concern
End the "Knife Violence" Now!!! They must do something to stop this!
