Transient arrested for alleged sexual assault of 80-year-old woman
KIRKLAND, Wash. -- Police have arrested a man they believe attacked and sexually assaulted an 80-year-old woman in Kirkland's Juanita neighborhood two months ago.
Moses Kelly, 26, was taken into custody near a Redmond gas station early Thursday morning.
On Oct. 25, the elderly victim had just returned to her home, located in the 9500 block of NE 128th Street, and was closing the door when she saw a man quickly coming at her.
Suspecting he was salesman, she tried to close the door, but the man barged in and threw the victim to the floor, police said.
The attacker then put his hand over her mouth and began to strangle her. She fought back -- even biting him -- as he pulled off her clothes, according to police.
Police say during the attack the man told the victim he was homeless and had just ended a four-year relationship. After sexually assaulting the victim, the man left and went down 128th, police said.
Kelly faces a charges of first degree rape and first degree burglary. Prosecutors asked that he be held on $1 million bail.

Why is it that if an 80-year-old woman is raped, the rapist is a sick, terrible man who should be castrated... but if a 25-year-old woman is raped, she somehow is at fault for putting herself in the situation and is expected to share the blame with the frustrated, confused man?

The current legal system is disappointing in this case for example read Tuba man murder. The murderes did weeks in lock up. It is not a joke when I say these criminals will be out in 3-7 yrs. The only way to stop a criminal is to STOP! a criminal double tap.

Justice, in this case, would be shooting this person so he doesn't do it again. Sending him to "prison" surely isn't justice. I find it hard to believe he hasn't done this before.
He has this is just one time he was chained by men able to subdue him. He will do this and other crimes many many more times after this joke of a legal system sets him free after a few months living on my tax dollars.
I'm concerned that the victim's address has nearly been revealed. Â A bit less information would be wise here.

I don't know why KOMO hasn't updated this story but they are reporting on tv that they found and arrested this guy. He's off the streets; at least for now.
