Man with gunshot wound boards bus in downtown Seattle
SEATTLE - Police say a man who was shot in downtown Seattle on Wednesday night was found after he boarded a Metro bus, but he won't tell officers what led to the shooting.
The incident began at about 9:40 p.m. when police responded to multiple 911 calls about two groups of people shooting at each other near 3rd Avenue and Lenora Street, said Seattle police spokesman Jeff Kappel.
When they arrived, responding officers on scene, they were unable to locate any suspects or victims after an extensive area search.
Then, about 45 minutes after the initial calls, someone called 911 to report a man with a gunshot wound getting on a Metro bus at 3rd Avenue and Pine Street.
Police quickly found the bus and pulled it over at 3rd Avenue and Union Street. Officers boarded the bus and found a male in his 40s with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim was not cooperative with officers and would not say what led up to the shooting, nor would the victim provide any information about suspects, Kappel said.
A preliminary investigation has not yet determined whether there was one shooter or more. The investigation continues.

I was at the bus stop at 3rd and Virginia when the gun fight happened. It sounded like a car backfiring...didn't realize they were gunshots at first until I heard screaming and people running. Some guy in a hoodie came staggering up to the bus stop. He fell over at one point, but when somebody tried to help him up he yelled "bitch, get off me" and flailed at them. I heard people saying it was gang-related, but that could be speculative...
Thank god METRO ditched the free ride area. Think how much worse this could have been.
@wysoumible There's one thing missing from your comment - it's called intelligent, rational logic.
Good thing he wasn't wearing stinky diaper..
downtown is getting a little uncomfy, starting @ 9pm. Meth heads are roaming and yelling and posturing
Good grief, this city has turned into such a toilet bowl.
@ButtercupSprinkles Which is why I don't go to Seattle unarmed...
@MB  @ButtercupSprinkles You would be even better off if you wore your ghilley suit. Just watch out for dogs.
@MB @ButtercupSprinkles Do you pull rotating guard shifts from a foxhole in your front yard, at a .50 cal position?
Â
@MB  @northwestsurfer Hell, the sarcasm is obvious, and YOU should be denied a concealed carry permit because you clearly are out of control.
@MB "Pull your head out of your ass"
I believe you said that to me. I never said anything other than a sarcastic question that you answered angrily. I'm done with this dumb debate.
@northwestsurfer  Remember, the sarcasm-meter is often broken on the internet. Take great care in what you say if it's meant to be in jest.
@northwestsurfer All I can go by is what you write, nothing would indicate sarcasm. What's with the personal attacks? Can't you argue you position with logic?
@MB If you are dumb enough to seriously consider that I was being serious, well then I am going to bet that you had a hard time fitting in when you were a kid.
@northwestsurfer Um, where does it say in your post that you were joking? Nothing indicated you were being sarcastic. I have a firm grip on reality, I take these things seriously and do not joke about them. What would make you believe that I am somehow unfit to carry a pistol? I could make all sorts of assumptions about you, your political views, etc. But yet I do not. I wonder why that would be...
@MB Wow dude, you need to get a grip, I was only joking. Poeple like you should not be allowed to carry handguns.
@northwestsurfer A .50 cal position? Really? No, I don't have rotating guard duty, don't have a fox hole in my front yard or a M2. But I do know that Seattle is a much less desirable and safe place to be than it used to be.And by the way, what would make you think I am so paranoid that I would have rotating guards, foxholes and heavy machine guns in my home? Or do you just like to start flame wars because of your blatant ignorance? Pull your head out of your ass and converse with reason.
We need a bleeding section and a non bleeding section on the bus. The non bleeders could sit with the people who don't stink.
@Elvis ...and the stinky diaper section would be where?  :-D
@Glassman  @Elvis That would be in the little trailer being pulled behind.
If he doesn't cooperate, charge him with obstruction of justice in the very least!
Maybe he was getting on the #3 to Harborview.
If he won't cooperate with the police, he's obviously not an "upstanding" citizen of Seattle. Withhold medical attention from him. Maybe when he realizes he's "bleeding out," he'll rat out the OTHER gangbangers involved and we can get rid of more than one of these vermin at a time.
@Wolfen Dr Mengele says hi to you
@Wolfen Yeah that'll work. Deny medical attention to a gunshot victim in order to get information out of him.  That's real logical and American there.  [eye roll]
@Sovereign  @Wolfen Don't forget that this dumbass could have called 911 or asked someone to take him to the hospital. He chose not to immediately seek medical attention. Obviously he didn't want it so why give it to someone who doesn't want it?
Wow, with shot up "G's" and stinky babies why would anyone ever want to use public transportation in Seattle?
@Marty McFly all in a day's work for METRO.
