Man's body recovered from Spokane River

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A Spokane County sheriff's spokesman says a dive team has recovered a man's body from the Spokane River.

The Spokesman-Review reports that Deputy Craig Chamberlin says the body was spotted Tuesday afternoon, tangled in the branches of a tree that had fallen into the water.

The spokesman says major crimes detectives will investigate although there is no obvious indication of foul play.

The medical examiner will identify the man and determine the cause of death.
