Photos show where millionaire pilot lured child victims

TACOMA, Wash. -- Accused serial child molester Marc Gilbert was sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison by a Pierce County judge Tuesday. And for the first time, investigators released photographs from inside a concealed room at Gilbert's Lake Tapps home where police say the children were molested.
The photographs released by police show boxes full of videotapes, spanking paddles and sports gear. On one wall, a bar is stocked with several bottles of alcohol. Nearby, a double bed was set next to a wall adorned with Super Mario Brothers wallpaper.
Prosecutors said Gilbert would get his victims drunk, which escalated to spanking and paddling them, and ultimately committing sex crimes on boys as young as 10 years old.
Gilbert's sentence came shortly after Pierce County Judge Katherine Stolz reluctantly allowed him to enter an Alford plea to 14 reduced counts of child molestation in the second and third degree. An Alford plea means Gilbert doesn't admit guilt, but believes there is enough evidence to convict him.
"It's time for this to end," Gilbert said. "I accept responsibility and the pain for everyone involved. I apologize."
During the sentencing, Stolz verbally lashed out at Gilbert, but was relieved a jury won't be forced to watch up to 226 hours of footage that Gilbert had recorded of the sexual assaults.
"He fits the classic profile of a predatory pedophile," Stolz told KOMO News after the sentencing. "And he'll remain that way until they hammer down the coffin lid."
Gilbert, a former pilot and a millionaire, drew national attention, when a judge ruled that because Gilbert was acting as his own attorney he would be allowed to watch the videos of the assaults from his jail cell because they were evidence in the trial.
"He will likely die in prison. That is not particularly a concern of mine," Stolz said.
Gilbert had already pleaded guilty in federal court to multiple counts of child pornography and transporting a minor across state lines for sexual activity and received a 25-year sentence. The 10-year state sentence handed down Tuesday will be served after Gilber completes the federal prison sentence.

His man parts should be removed so he can never pleasure himself at even the thought of a child again, while remaining behind bars. Disgusting
Here is an example where money doesn't make you a better person.
he is such a sick sick person
There is not a dark hole big enough or dark enough for where someone this sick and screwed up can go. Appalling!
I got paddled by the principal in elementary school back in the early 80s, but that was only because I threw a rock and hit a kid in the eye. Didnt mean to do it though. I was pretty scared though, peed my britches.
He should be behind bars for the rest of his life. NEVER let this sick POS out.
I hope some of his victims get to keep his money
I'm sure he'll be quite comfortable in prison....hehehe
Hang him, forget the trial.
The likes of the liberal professors at the UW, Â the liberal governor, Â democratic legislators will see to it, Â he doesn't serve life no matter what.Â
@HullenbeckCowl & the award for dumbest post of the evening goes to.... drumroll please.... "HullenbeckCowl!"  Congratulations! Please feel free to give an acceptance speech. Â
Actually, by doing a Alford plea, he will be in jail for life. He would have to participate in sex offender counseling to get out of jail and part of that is admitting he did commit these crimes. If he admits he did it, it would nullify his Alford plea and he would be subject to trial for his crimes. If he never admits he did it, he can never attend treatment and never get out of jail.Â
@dn6993 How do you figure that? He's 52, gets 25 years in the fedaral system - they don't give time off for being good, so it's *25* years. In the state system, he can get 1/3 off for good behavior, which gives him 6 years and some change. Give him credit for time already served (5 years?), and he winds up with 1 more year in the state system, and he's out by the time he's 80...or can the state keep him indefinitely because he's a sex offender? Sorry if I'm asking a dumb question...
@Silvia Prison is not conducive to a long, healthy life, especially for a guy like this.
@nodozr  @Silvia True. But I thought "Club Fed" was pretty nice??? He looks like such a marshmellow, though - maybe he'll get the Dahmer *treatment* even in Club Fed? :-)
 @dn6993 GOLLY! I hope that's true!!!
ONLY 10 years??? WTF??? I really don't understand our legal/justice system. This whole story disgusts and sickens me. Why oh why don't they take his $$$$$ away!!!! I pray for his victims. Marc Gilbert's day is coming.
@libertygirl777 It helps to read the entire article. The 10 years was in addition to the 25 he already received. Refer to the last paragraph.
What a sick b**tard. I wish him the same fate as Jeffrey Dahmer.
I note that one of the photos features a naked lady. A crafty bit of salaciousness there, KOMO.
I can't look at the pictures, they will make me sick. Bless the hearts of the poor little children that this beast hurt. They will never be the same.  Hopefully his fellow cellmates will make his life never be the same!
@jellyfish He won't have any cellmates (darnit!)
being in a liberal state of washington he will get out before, just watch and see, that is a sorry way to see it but it is true bout washington, the state is soft on crime
@Richard Wright In California, they are trying to legalize this saying it is "normal"  When will it ever end.
@jennelea  @Richard Wright what are you talking about?
Death penalty...simple. What he did to these children mentally and physically is not forgivable. Ever
@my_opinions Earth to my opinions...the DP is not an option. Try to get with the program and desist living in your dream world.
@Mark DuPriest whatever...obviously I know death is not an option.  that does not mean I think this monster does not deserve it. he does. I do not live in a "dream world", I am fully aware that animals like this will continue to rape and abuse innocents. It sickens me
_Monte_ "NO second chances for Sex offenders - as their Victims will never got one themselves".
This simple statement should echo thru-out the halls of justice. Sadly, people in prison are offered more rights than those of us living decent lives on the outside.Â
I'm truly not a huge fan of capitol punishment because just because someone is convicted, it doesn't prove in all cases that they really did do the crime, but I really do believe that people that do these horrible crimes to people that cannot defend themselves should simply be put out of their misery & give the victims some closure.
Damien, you cry out for human rights to all people but when a victim calls out & cannot be heard, we show them that human rights is about allowing people to do horrible, inhumane things & then they can get a few years of "hard" time in our penal system? Hard time watching cable TV, 3 squares a day, access to books & an education if they so desire. C'mon.......those victims have endured the worst.....human rights for the victims or the evil doers?
It's easy for us all to say they should be allowed a fair trial, counselling, treatment, etc. but if they are released because they stay out of trouble (which they often do so they can get out & satisfy their desires) then they get out & re-offend. That's not human rights! That is aiding criminals. The laws should not allow this. PERIOD!
The news pages are filled with stories or re-offenders!
*Yes, I am a father. Yes it hits a sensitive string!*
Good! Feel free to add more to his sentence at anytime! Hopefully he won't out live it.
I can't help but wonder if the rapist in the picture is trying to show us the size of his "weapon" with his hand there....
I just can't help but get a bit ticked off that I will have to support his sorry self...for 35 years.  What a shame.  And why do those poor inmates get free room and board anyway?Â
Â
@punknpi Actually, as he's reputed to be a millionaire, there have been cases of the state/county recovering SOME of the money used for housing such as him...
com'on people, he was just horsing around
Just chop off the dragons head and be done with him !
Let him out and let's see how long he can draw oxygen. Bet it'll be quick but hopefully not painless!
As much as I hate to see this guy get a lightened sentence in return for this plea deal, at least his victims (and others) won't have to watch the videos and relive all of the horror.
Â
So - he has 25 years in Federal prison - will have to serve all of that. No time off for good behavior, right? Then, theoretically he could get 1/3 off the 10 years for good behavior - 6+ years. So he'll be 80 when he gets out, at the earliest - is that right?
Gilbert later apologized to his victims."I've caused so much pain for these individuals," Gilbert said. " I feel horrible."Â Amazing how remorseful they all get when caught.
Â
As already posted, amazing they allowed him the Alford plea...should be in prison for life and now has the opportunity to be freed and do it again. NIce job Wa State Justice System yet again!
@burmesepythondude I'll go with prison for life, as long as he is executed within a week.
Maybe we'll get lucky and this POS will hang himself in prison.
 @Cooter_Brown I'll furnish the rope!
Only 226 hours of footage of him molesting helpless little children?? No wonder they had to plea it down. (sarcasm).
This sorry piece of crap should never see the outside of an empty prison cell, nor get cable, Internet and healthcare on our dime. For sustenance, not that he deserves any at all, a bucket of slop per week, preferably served in the same bucket he defecates and urinates in.Â
@MargeGunderson Just execute him and be done with it.
He NEVER should have been allowed to submit an Alford plea. That SOB needs to be locked up for life! Even better, put him in a room with the victims' families and let a little rough justice be served. People like him should not be allowed to walk the earth. They cannot be rehabilitated and they are predators whos sole purpose is to victimize others for their own enjoyment.
@The WA Mama I don't want him locked up for life, I don't want him locked for years, I don't want him locked up for any longer than it takes to execute him..
I got a better Idea - Lets skin him, roll him in salt, then drag him through lemon juice. Then we"ll clean it with Iodine and Rubbing Alcohol...Opps...did I say this Out loud!!
Â
NO second chances for Sex offenders - as their Victims will never got one themselves.Â
@Monte why waste pefectly good Iodine, salt, lemon juice and isopropyl alcohol on this p.o.s.? Simply toss him off the Narrows Bridge.  At least as fish food he would be making some contribution to this state.
@_Monte_ There's something called "human rights", if you want to go down the road of torturing criminals you should relocate to Somalia, Afganistan, or other less civilized parts of the world. It's quite clear what kinds of societies are created by this kind of "justice" you propose. If you are a monster towards another human being, no matter how bad the other person is, you become a monster yourself. This sick man should be locked for life, so he pays for what he did and so he doesn't harm another person again, but nothing justifies torturing or killing.
@Damian  @_Monte_ So many people express a vigilante justice opinion and seem not to understand why that is a bad thing for society at large. You're getting flamed for suggesting human rights is important even for prisoners. I am with you- this guy belongs in prison, and we need to work with our system. Vigilante justice is just another form of lawlessness.
@Damian While I agree with you on the torture I disagree with your stand on life imprisonment. We need to execute people (I use the term loosely) like this POS.
@Damian  @_Monte_ Oh please.  Save it.  This man deserves to be tortured and even you know it.  Human Rights?  I think he may have surrendered them when he proved he wasn't human by molesting all those kids.  This behavior will not stop until the punishment for the crime is so unimaginable that it detours them from commiting the crime.  This is a monster and he was the monster first, torturing him would be doing to him what he did to those boys.  Take your "human rights" speech to the parents of the children who were abused at his hands, see how far you get with that.  Oh maybe he should have had you for his defense attorney rather than represent himself, and you could have watched the tapes with him because it was his "right" to do so.
@Damian Where were human rights when he was hurting children? An eye for an eye and I'm not even a Bible follower.
Problem is, you and I get to "pay" for it....while he "pays" for what he did. Perhaps he should be made to earn an income and pay for his own R&B. Maybe a prison based diaper service,  or taking farm waste to produce mulch and compost for use in parks...hum...why didn't I think of that
@Damian Really Damian?  And I am pretty sure if this guy touched one of your kids right in front of you....you would allow it and say "eh, we are all human!"  Damian, you are completely sick
@Damian  @_Monte_ Did u seriously just mention "Human Rights" in regards to a CHILD MOLESTER - What about those Kids rights not to be MOLESTED??
Â
When you do something like that, especially to a CHILD, your rights are forfeit in my book...give me all the reason why it's not right...and I'll still sleep well at night. People like this DO NOT deserve Air, let making taxpayer pay for better medical care that they can afford themselves...
Â
Some people are born DEFECT IVE. Plain and Simple. You can't "therapy" it out. That's NAIVE. If you have a defective, rabid psychotic dog, ya don't keep it, ya put it down.
Â
Go hold hands with them and sing "Kum By Ah" all ya want,....I''ll be protecting my children.
It's OK _Monte_, I use my outside voice inside...alot. There are some things that just need to be said. I am pretty sure the majority of people would agree with you.
