Marysville couple robbed by intruders dressed as police
MARYSVILLE, Wash. -- Investigators in Marysville are looking for two men who broke into a home Sunday morning by pretending to be police officers.
According to police Commander Rob Lamoureux, the couple who live at the home in the 3800 block of 118th Place NE said the intruders knocked on their door about 8:30 a.m. Sunday and were dressed as police.
Once inside, the intruders restrained the couple and used a stun gun on the man.
The two men made off with cash and two hand guns, Lamoureux said, and investigators believe the home was targeted by the robbers.
The first man was white, in his late 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin to medium build and short dark hair. The second man was also white, in his mid 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky build and short red or strawberry blond hair. Both men were clean shaven, Lamoureux said.
"Identifying them and putting them in jail will be a top priority," Lamoureux said in a news release.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Detective Shackleton at 360-363-8300.

If someone says that they are the police and they want to enter your home, demand a warrant.
One might also consider calling 911 and asking why the police are at your residence. If they
that there are no police there, tell them to send some.
Your right to demand a warrant before they are allowed enter your home is a constitutionally
guaranteed right.
If the above stated demand for a warrant are not met, be prepared to take appropriate action,
up to and including the use of deadly force. The lives that you may save may be yours, and
your family.
Â
"investigators believe the home was targeted" Known drug house?
@DarkParty ...or known owner of guns? (followed from gun range or gun shop, perhaps?)
If you are not a drug dealer nobody will show up at your home to rob you.
 @opoutÂ
Wrong.
Â
Flat-out wrong.
Â
Our home was "Targeted" 3 weeks ago. They broke in, grabbed anything that wasn't nailed down. We don't deal or sell drugs..
@Poisonous Giraffe  @opout Targeted, meaning not random. Why was your house "Targeted"?
Answer the door with your gun ready, they had two that now are in the hands of criminals.
@al_wa I still have my gun ready though haha
@Gadsden  @al_wa Nothing wrong with having your hand on it while peaking through the peep hole or window.
@al_wa Normally I would agree with you, however it's best not to be holding a gun when talking you Police. Yes I understand there is nothing illegal about holding a firearm in your house etc. It's just probably not the best idea. If they were real cops, you stand a good chance of getting guns pointed back in your face if not worse.
How scary. I hope they catch these POS's soon!Â
Another reason to never open your door for anyone you don't know, even police.
@oledawg Yep. Thats a hard one for people to do, but its important that people understand they don't have to open the door to an officer. if someone claims to be an officer just tell the officer you're going to call 911 to verify that he's an officer first. The smae precautions have to be made if you're being pulled over especially at night. Pull into a well lighted area with people around before you stop. Of course its a problem because some of the more ignorant cops get pissed off if you don't pull over immediately. But its better than ending up dead in the trunk.
@Blindman @oledawg  In todays world, cops feel justified to shoot you for "not complying". Its pretty hard to call 911 when the cop is telling you to put your hands in the air. Just sayin.....
It's not hard to get an entire Police uniform and badges are just as easy to get. If you are unsure if a Police Officer at your door, or pulling you over is real you have all the right to call 911 and they can help you get answers.
Catch them and cage them.
and yet this state keeps on electing liberal tree huggers who do nothing to deter this type of behavior..... so quit complaining
it's a darn good thing this state isn't run by fascist Conservatives, otherwise it would be real cops robbing houses.
@factchekr You realize the progressive movement is much more closely aligned with fascism than conservatives, right?
@left-center @Dean Fuller @factchekr... Too bad that most sheeple simply stick their heads in the sand, ignoring the obvious. This scene will play out until Judgement Day. Stay safe friends and family.
@Dean Fuller  @factchekr Are you certain that progressives are more closely aligned with fascism?

The 14 Steps to Fascism
In 2003 Dr. Lawrence Britt examined the fascist regimes of Mussolini, Franco,, Suharto and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14 defining characteristics common to each regime:
Â
1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism â The fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.
Â
2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.
Â
3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.
Â
4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.
Â
5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Divorce, abortion and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution.
Â
6. Controlled Mass Media - Sometimes to (sic) media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.
Â
7. Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.
Â
8. Religion and Government are intertwined - Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.
Â
9. Corporate Power is protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.
Â
10. Labor Power is suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.
Â
11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked.
Â
12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.
Â
13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.
Â
14. Fraudulent Elections - Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Provided to inform the uninformed.
@ufrigginkiddin And yet Washington's crime rate is much lower than Texas, so that argument just doesn't make sense.
@justmyopinion  @ufrigginkiddin Didn't you know that criminals only commit crimes in states where they elect republicans for office?
Marysville is going downhill fast.
@Harry reems When has Marysville ever been uphill? As far as I can recollect it has always been a dump.Â
 @HallandOates  @Harry reems Not where I live.Â
@HallandOates  @Harry reems It always hadn't been bad in Marysville. There was a time in the 50's & 60's when M'ville was a small community. It began at 1st and State and ended at Grove and State, the population couldn't have been more than 2400 people. Then came the settlers out of the south, bringing with them developers and a big city attitude and the small county communities: Marysville, Lake Stevens. Machias, Arlington, Granite Falls, Lochsloy, Smoky Point became victims of the expansion.
@Northend  @Harry reems Please remember I am reflecting on the way it was 40-50 years ago. When the entire population of the north county was less than Smoky Point 's current population.
Â
I do not live there any longer, I call West Seattle home.
@left-center  @Harry reems Little Beruit in Lake Stevens isn't exactly a lovely neighborhood. I live in West Marysville, 9 miles from the freeway and it's fine up there. No I am not on the rez.Â
@Harry reems I grew up in Lake Stevens and had a front row seat to the eventual decay of Marysville. My point was that it did not start out to become what it has become. Poor city planning definitely had an impact but so did the unfortunate proximity to the I-5 corridor.
@left-center  @HallandOates Marysville is a prime example of a city without a bit of planning. What a joke.
@Harry reems I'm afraid it isn't just Marysville.  I think most of western Washington that is going downhill.  Â
 @KRM66 Yeah you're right!
