Marysville student arrested for threatening to shoot other students
MARYSVILLE, Wash. -- A Marysville Mountain View High School student was arrested Wednesday for threatening to shoot other students, according to the Marysville Police Department.
Police got word around 7 a.m. there was a student with a handgun threatening to shoot students on a Marysville school bus.
Officers stopped the bus as it was entering the Marysville Pilchuck High School campus but the 15-year-old student had already gotten off the bus at Mountain View.
The student was arrested a short time later and booked into Denny Juvenile Justice Center for investigation of felony harassment. According to police, the student had a cap gun that strongly resembled an actual revolver.
Marysville Pilchuck High School was briefly on lockdown due to the incident.

It was fun being on lock down.
There is no way in today's world that this boy could not have realized the concern these actions and statements would cause or the trouble he would be in. To me this is very obviously a cry for help. I am not a bleeding heart. I believe in consequences and "tough love" but I also believe in listening and reaching out when children cry out for help. I pray that along with the consequences this young man will get the love and help he needs.
I definately do not condone what this kid did. But I have to wonder what led up to this. I have raised two sons and I know that at 15 hormones are crazy and that the age alone is a tough age. But a kids doesn't usually take a gun to school for no reason. He didn't just wake up today and decide it is a good day to threaten to shoot other kids. Was he bullied? Was he teased? Did he have other mental problems? He MUST be punished and face responsibilty for his choices. One thing that I realized with the horrible tragedy in Newtown is that without mental health care these things can happen. My daughter was raped when she was 12. As a result of that she suffered from depression, PTSD and agorophobia. I was getting her help but she could not leave the house. How did Marysville school district respond? They took me to court for Becca bill violations. I slept on my daughters floor because she was so suicidal and I was told by the truancy officer that I may need to let my daughter commit suicide. So I don't trust school districts to have any plan in place to help parents even when we beg.
@taxpro Sorry for such a struggle at such a young age. If you can get out of the Marysville school district it will help. We tried for about 3 years (I grew up in Marysville and wanted it to be like when I was a kid, but too much has changed) and finally moved one of our children to a relatives house in Snohomish school district so he could get an education. He went from hating school and anything associated with it to participating in after school activities in about a month at Snohomish. Good luck and prayers for your family.
Give the little idiot a good ol fashioned ass whuppin, and a talk about the hazards of being an idiot, WHILE whupping his ass, and I'll bet he learns something. However, he's in D.Y.C.......he'll get a hug from some oversensitive counselor, who will make him think he was WRONGED, and those people will have to PAY for their sins against him. Next time, the gun will be real. Yea......that's exactly how it works these days, but those pesky GUNS are the problem, not the mental midget HOLDING it.
@Wolfen Hmm, not to mention the "mental midget" who thinks beating the kid is going to solve all his problem. Do you know this kids? His parents? Have any idea what his world is like? No? Yet you feel qualified to make a statement about what is wrong with him and how to fix it...aren't you brilliant?
@justmyopinion, I may be wrong, but what I read into Wolfen's post is simply that old fashion discipline is missing in today's society, and if the parents of this child had paid closer attention to the raising of the child and instilled some discipline with an exacting consequence, this probably wouldn't have happened.
@SargeMcC So you agree that an "old fashion ass whupping" is all this boys missing in his life? Yet you know nothing about him or his world. How do you know his parents did not pay close attention to him? Amazingly,  teenagers have a way of making their own decisions, and not all of them are good, yet posters on this forum, who know nothing about them, think they have all the answers. Pardon me for getting irritated with him.
@SargeMcC I read it the same way. However, he worded it a little coarsely.
The worst part of this story was not reported. The idiots at the Marysville School district called EVERY PARENT in the district with their autodialer to broadcast a message that this had happened, and that THREE schools were in lockdown... but FAILED to say WHICH THREE SCHOOLS THEY WERE!
Well, good. Children need to learn that there are serious consequences for their actions, and threatening to shoot someone, at any place, is stupid and irresponsible. That isn't a statement to make lightly, and my opinion, not something to say at all. This incident should put him front and center in front of a team of child psychologists to determine if he poses a future threat.Â
Oh boy, someones looking at some serious corner time....
if she/he was smoking marijuana would that make a differance in the case? since marijuana is sooo safe????..
 @eagles New troll ID?
Â
Nothing in this story about cannabis and your 'what ifs' are real lame. 12 years old and nothing to do?
@eagles Every single one of your past comments have been about pot in one way or another. Give it a rest, your wasting too much energy on it.Â
lack of family attention
@Komo Dragon Maybe, and maybe not. Sometimes the best parents in the world turn out very troubled children. The answer is probably not as simple as you suggest.
@felines99 of course, I know nothing about the family, but I see a social deficit - some kids require more attention and care than others, which is not easy, especially if both parents work (a sign of our times - don't know if that's the case here)Â
Not good at all, even if this was a game among friends and someone over heard the boy say I am going to shoot so and so and pay him back. I am glad he is in custody, and I am hoping that this was a messed up game. I would hate to see any more school shooting or someone thinking they need to hurt someone on the bus or school.  I hope the boys parents are able to help him in whatever way he needs it most.
Â
Before anyone jumps on me about it being a game and a child wanting to shoot someone, my son plays paint ball wars with friends all the time and sometimes they will all take it to far as a game. That is my meaning of a game. I am not saying this is right to do.
No sympathy here - people know better by now.Â
Bummer.
