Masked home invaders hold North Seattle man at gunpoint
SEATTLE -- Police say three masked, armed robbers tied up and threatened to kill a man inside his North Seattle home Friday afternoon.
The victim arrived at his NW 120th Street home just before 4 p.m. When he went inside, he was met by the trio of masked men, who police believe got into the house through a rear door.
The armed robbers tied up and threatened to kill the man before leaving on foot with his cash and various other personal items, police say.
The victim wasn't injured and was able to free himself and call 911 after the robbers left.
Officers canvassed the area but were unable to track down the home invaders.
There are no suspect descriptions available, but anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Robbery Unit at (206) 684-5535

Thanks, Mayor McNugget! I'm feeling a lot safer after your "gun buy back" publicity stunt! **sarcasm**
Wonder if this fellow was targeted, kind of seems that way given the time of day and the face they wore masks. He might know them. Something more to this story, however glad he was not injured.
In another story a lady claims that an officer gropes her and over half the comments claim that she is making it up. This guy claims that three masked men broke into his house, threatened his life, tied him up and stole his cash and personal belongings. Yet no mention of him being assaulted by any of these suspected criminals, and he was tied up in a manner that allowed him to free himeself without asistance and call 911. The responding officers search the area and are unable to find any of the suspects. Yet not a single comment that questions his story.

Both stories are probably ttrue, but I find it interesting what/who people are willing to take at face value and what/who they are not.
 @Justaguy lol...I do not think you should take these stories written on local news channels (or even a report by AP) as spoken truths.  -_-  For me, I read them as poorly written fiction.  Unless I obtain the police report, most of these stories are told through interpretation. In short, the reporter usually 1) filters out important details and/or 2) misinterpret facts. Â
Â
An example of how ABC News reports work:
A few months ago, a reporter for ABC affiliate down in Los Angeles tried to report interpret the case of Julio Morlas, where he (convicted rapist) was set free over fraud in inducement vs fact during the closing statements during his first trial.  The reporter missed the entire point of why Julio was set free, but he fingered the blame entirely on an arcane law. It really seemed to have only read the first two pages of the 19-page opinion...-_-
i am drunk sowwwwwwy
 @futhi151 hahaha....made my morning
gun buy back? you think a gang member wants a 100 dollar gift card when he can shove a gun in your wifes face and take her purse while your kid is in his child seat in the back of the car
my first choice is gun second a camera, but if i have to shoot this guy while his back is turned or on his way out from threatening to kill me and pushing my family around, i will shoot him and then light my hard drive on fire. such bs laws where you have to think before you shoot someone who has been in your home. Dont fall for the gun control stuff if your a normal person keep a gun in your home. lets all ban guns, and only let criminal have them, i know guys that come into my businesses that have guns have been arrested with them and done a month and got out of jail. more normal people with guns is better than only bad people and cops. how many stories have you read about a home owner with a gun shooting or scaring off someone. when that is you you will wish you had a gun. with hundreds of million registered guns how many times do you hear guy came home from work played with kids and was bored when kids were tired so he started shooting in neighborhood, dont be dumb. criminals and mental health is where the problem is.
@futhi151 Criminals, mental health, and accidental shootings (you mean). Please edit your piece here before publishing.

Apostrophes are great, aren't they? How about capitalization? Question marks? Articles? And that tricky "you're" instead of "your". And you own more than one business? Lucky you.
@Koawoodplayer He posted that he is drunk. LOL and given the lilt of his long post I'd agree.
So now when I come home I'm supposed to have my weapon at the ready as I unlock the door?
 @Furd claymores are the only way to be sure ; )
if you don't like to carry a gun, a video surveillance system is a pretty good choice to deter or catch them
 @Komo Dragon or just film them killing you? which would you rather have, a video camera or a firearm to protect yourself?Â
 @NW-Economist firearm is my first choice, but video is a great demotivator.Â
 @NW-Economist  @Komo Dragon How many home invasion slayings have there been in Seattle in the last ten years that didn't involve a drug operation in the house?
SPD never seem to catch these guys. The officers who work this district should be fired! Period!
@Papio Not worth the login.
 @Papio maybe you should work for SPD and show them how it's done.
@Komo Dragon What's with all problem-solving attitude, man? Way to bring the party down. This is Komo. We come here to bash SPD. Don't come in here with your solutions, answers and good ideas. Next thing you'll be suggesting we prosecute criminals in an attempt to deter crime.
 @Papio  @Komo didn't catch your sarcasm, oh well
Oh wow, clearly these thugs must have forgotten to turn in their guns at the buyback! I can see the crime rate is way down!
Â
As you can see it's pointless for citizens to be armed, why would they need guns with fine people like this in the world?
@NW-Economist
Iâm sure you recognize that Iâm definitely pro 2nd Amd., but sometimes being armed just doesnât work for the situation you walk into (pun intended)â¦. Been there, unfortunately, done thatâ¦.
