Masked, knife-wielding robber slashes 65-year-old woman
SEATTLE -- Police are searching for a knife-wielding robber who cut a 65-year-old woman during a Wednesday afternoon robbery in North Seattle.
Officers first responded to an armed street robbery call in the 6500 block of 36th Avenue NE at 3 p.m. When they arrived, they learned a 65-year-old woman had been attacked and robbed after getting off a bus.
The woman had just gotten of the bus and was walking north on 36th when a man wearing a black mask came up from behind her and grabbed her purse, according to police.
The woman refused to give up the purse, and as the two fought over it the robber pulled out a knife and cut the purse straps. In doing so, police say he also cut the woman's hand.
The robber then took off on foot and was last seen running northbound on 36th before heading west onto NE 68th Street. Officers searched the area but didn't find the man.
Medics treated the victim on scene and a patrol officer drover her home.
In addition to his mask, the robber was also wearing a black hoodie and jeans. He stands 5'9" tall, weighs about 150 pounds and has a thin build. Police say the man is likely in his 20s.

So we are back to failing to give the public a full description of the attacker again? I thought we had moved past that. Oh, well, some habits die hard...
Maybe we should have knife registration and background checks huh?
Seriously, arm law-abiding citizens and after they put a few of these assaulting scumbags down you'll see a huge drop in crime. I guarantee you, if someone pulls a knife on me its the last thing they'll ever do.

Give her an At-A-Girl for not giving it up (did he get the purse?). Â If there were a camera... just sayin'.
It takes a real tough guy to rob the elderly. What a piece of s***.
They all seem to be wearing a dark or black hoodie and standing around 5'9" tall lately. And I agree - drug addicts have to get their money some way for their daily fix. It will go on and on as long as the drugs get more addicting and faster acting.
Scum of the earth! Sad thing is that if he is ever caught, he will get a slap on the wrist! The victim will suffer for the rest of her life! When are we going to support the victim instead of the criminals? We need some serious punishment handed to those crapwads!
Wish I was a witness to this situation, the little punk would regret he ever woke up this morning!
Meth addicts. The death penalty needs to be put in place for everyone in the chain of manufacture, distribution and sale of this life taking substance. The people involved in the meth industry kill addicts every day. An eye for an eye works for me.
@komoispropaganda ..those same addicts are selling to feed their habit...do they deserve to die also, I think not. The government needs to secure the border. Had it been secured long ago we wouldn't have so many addicts....NO MORE DRUGS COMING INTO THIS COUNTRY. Now anyone smuggling drugs into the country...I agree should get the death penalty.
@FED__UPÂ Securing the border won't help with the meth issue. It is made in motel rooms an cars daily, nation wide.
@Bornhere @FED__UP ....actually local law enforcement says large scale meth labs have dried up around here because the pseudoephedrine is so tightly controlled. Most of the meth is indeed coming from Mexico....
