Medical examiner: Bothell mom was killed by injuries to the head

BOTHELL, Wash. - A woman who was found slain inside her home earlier this week died of head injuries, the Snohomish County medical examiner's office disclosed Friday.
The woman, a mother of two young children, was identified by the medical examiner as Susann Smith, 37, of Bothell.
Smith failed to show up for work on Monday. Police conducted a welfare check the next day and found her remains inside her home, in the 200 block of 240th Street SW.
Her children - both under 10 years of age - were not hurt. Police did not elaborate on their whereabouts.
Neighbors say Smith was one of the kindest people on the block. Police and neighbors said the victim and her two children have lived in the home for about three years. The woman has been separated from her husband for some time, they said.
Investigators are now trying to determine who would want to hurt the woman, and why.
Police have made no announcements about a suspect of person of interest in the case. Anyone with information is urged to call police immediately.

Is there an ex-husband/boyfriend?
WHERE WERE THE CHILDREN?
Did the medical examiner's office rule this a homicide?Â
@lakeview"Investigators are now trying to determine who would want to hurt the woman, and why."..didn't see an actual label, but this statement led me to believe that they at the very least think it might be homicide.
Two young children without a mother is such a sad thought. I only hope they were not at home at the time of her murder, and that there is a nurturing and loving home for them to go to now.
