PUYALLUP, Wash. - Six people suffered minor injuries after an amusement ride tipped over at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say a train ride was rolling through 6th Avenue Southwest and 2nd Avenue Southwest in downtown Puyallup, as part of Meeker Days Festival, when a tire on the last car came loose, tipping it over on the street.

Six passengers were in the caboose when it tipped over, and all passengers sustained minor injuries and abrasions, police said. Central Pierce Fire and Rescue treated the victims at the scene, and took an 8-year-old boy to the hospital as a precaution.

Investigators believe improper loading of the caboose is what caused the accident.

Meeker Days Festival returned to Puyallup for its 75th anniversary this year. The festival runs through Sunday and is put on by the Puyallup Main Street Association.
