Missing boy's father urges police to release more info, to no avail

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- The father of missing boy Sky Metalwala asked investigators to release additional information in the case on Wednesday, but detectives refused, saying doing so could jeopardize the case.

The request was the latest move in Solomon Metalwala's desperate search for his 2-year-old son, who vanished last November.

"It's sad for us that we can't release (any more information) but good for us to know the investigation is still going forward," said Clay Terry, Solomon Metalwala's attorney.

Sky was reported missing by his mother, Julia Biryukova, on Nov. 6 when she said she left him asleep in her car while she walked to a gas station. She told investigators the boy was gone when she returned.

Police have questioned the mother's story from day one after discovering that her car hadn't actually run out of gas as she claimed.

Multiple searches have failed to develop a solid lead on the boy, and officials say Sky's mother hasn't answered their questions since making her first statement to investigators.

"We have been been genuinely concerned since the child was reported missing that we have not received as a family any cooperation from the grandmother, brother, and two of the girlfriends that have been associated very closely with Julia," Terry said.

But despite the lack of leads in the case, the boy’s father said he remains positive.

"I still believe he is out there someplace," Solomon said. "Each day, we are getting closer to getting justice to Sky...and that day will come. And we have complete faith in these police departments."
