Missing person case leads to child pornography arrest
OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A missing person case led to the arrest of an Olympia man for possession of child pornography.
Troy A. Fisher was reported missing on Tuesday. His family hadn't heard from the 52-year old since Sunday and he hadn't reported to work at the Capital Playhouse Theater on Monday.
As police investigated the disappearance, detectives searched Fisher's computer in hopes of finding clues to where he might have gone. Instead, a computer forensics specialist found pornographic photos involving children, according to police.
A disoriented Fisher turned up on Wednesday and told police he had no memory of where he'd been since Sunday. He was arrested after being taken to Capital Medical Center for a precautionary examination.
The investigation is ongoing, but police don't believe there's any connection between the disappearance and the pornography.

Really folks? Did you know it was a recently purchased, USED computer, still in the box? If we convict folks with this kind of evidence it is an oppresive sate we live in.
A used computer, still in the box, and never been plugged in. USe that to convict someone and we live in a VERY scary country!

I don't know him but the fact that he has child pornography on his computer and he works so closely with children is quite concerning. Just because he is a great person on the outside doesn't mean he doesn't have some issues that most people dont know about...look at Gary Ridgeway...everyone that knew him thought he was a upstanding citizen but you can't always judge a book by it's cover.
I don't know him either, but I hesitate at passing judgement when the only thing found is files on a computer. We don't know the quantity or organization of the files.  If it were printed photos in a drawer, it is more certain, but computers can be usurped by viruses/trojans that make it part of a distribution network for illegal stuff. There is also the accidental hit on unwanted web sites which will pull down and cache images that persist long after the browser closes.  Since one part of punishment for pedophelia is social shunning, the mere accusation starts the punishment before we are able to verify the crime was his. It is possible the police were looking at the computer much more throroughly than he ever did (such as scanning the internet cache). There is a big difference if the image is in the cache vs in "My Documents".
Everyone who is commenting is rediculous. Troy Fisher is a wonderful person who is a valued asset to this community. I personally know him and his disappearance is not related to this incident with his computer. It was medical. I would urge you all to stop disparaging his character when you donât know him. But then again, thatâs the only thing the computer is used for. Rude, harsh comments that wouldnât be said face to face because youâre protected by the fact that itâs anonymous online. Pathetic. Well, in this case it was also used to download child porn. If your community thinks a valued asset is a pedophile, then I pray for your community and perhaps the entire community should be investigated.
you beat me to the punch on this, obviously this guy had a few "uses" for his computer.
 He needs caring, respect and love of our community, here in Olympia. He probably will be leaving the Capital Playhouse, in light of this situation. He probably will have other freedoms taken away. But he still is human.

I really don't see what is to gain from frothing at the mouth and lighting torches and having pitchforks to use against this man. He was caught and he will do his time for the rest of his life, wherever he goes. Let the rule of law work and let's not spit in his face once he is released back into the community, please. <3

I'm trying to figure out your logic here as well. Why are you even bring up drunk driving? Using child porn and drunk driving are both bad (to different degrees and for different reasons, though you might disagree because you seem to be a kiddie porn apologist), and someone who engages in either ought to be punished.
