Monroe man injured in Monday crash

MONROE, Wash. -- A 40-year-old Monroe man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after he drove head-on into a power pole Monday evening.
Police say the man was driving northbound on North Lewis Street near Hill Street just after 5:30 p.m when he crossed the center line and crashed into the pole.
Rescue crews from Monroe's Fire District 3 pulled the man out of his 1993 Oldsmobile Bravada using the Jaws of Life. He was then flown to Harborview for medical treatment.
The severity of his injuries are unknown, and police are still investigating what caused the wreck.
Nobody else was injured.
