Is there a way to get the copy of the video with interviews for this accident?
what are the odds.? When it's your time...
Wow - too bad that truck had to hit someone on the roadway, otherwise someone would only take offense of the broken fence.
Peace and blessings to all involved. I'll wager even the driver is feeling really badly right now.
God bless him and his family, I drove by just as they were giving him CPR and said lots fo prayers for him. I know onet thing for sure is that I don't take anything for granted anymore. It really made a big impact on me and I can't stop thinking about it. I've taking so many CPR classes and never thought there would come a time that I needed to use it, but this accident proved me wrong, Alls I know is that from now on Im going to be even more aware of my surroundings and maybe in some way he saved someone elses life. RIP God bless you!!
@CJMH13 - Like you, I can't stop thinking about this. Although I didn't pass by the scene, I live close by and heard the sirens. I was with my oldest son at PetSmart and my husband, hearing all the sirens,  called to be sure that we were safe. We had heard the sirens, as well, and in turn, called my youngest son, to see if he was OK, which he was. After this article posted, last night, and seeing that it was a motorcyclist (three of my son's friends ride similar bikes and live within 5 blocks of the accident) I asked my son if he had talked with each, that evening. He had spoken with two of the three and after not reaching the third, drove to his home and confirmed that he, too, was OK. Still, I did not find solace. Someone lost a son, perhaps a husband, brother, nephew, father or dear friend, last night. To each, I send my sincere condolances and hopes that you find peace!  Just three weeks ago, my family attended the funeral of one of my sons closest freinds and a boy who was like a son to my husband and me. We understand the grief and the questions and wish each of those left to grieve, our sympathies.  My thoughts go out to the driver, as well. RIP and Blessings!
@mooshie123 " Someone lost a son, perhaps a husband, brother, nephew, father or dear friend, last night."  Yes, someone lost all of those.  He was my cousin.  He was a wonderful father with a big heart and our family is completely heartbroken over this tragedy.  This young man was only 30 years old and leaves behind 3 children, including a baby.  RIP sweet James. Â
Freak accident! Man, figure the odds and timing required to have that happen.
Â
R.I.P. and peace to the family.
That is bizarre.
Probably had air brakes and air parking brakes on big trucks are very nominal for parking particularly if its on a hill. SHould have thrown a chock under a wheel. Its the same on semis. The brakes are big enough to stop most trucks reasonable well but they do not apply enough spring pressure when applied to parking a loaded truck.
I see a huge lawsuit in that septic companies future.

Another sign of the coming of "Soylent Green"
that is sad. never, ever exit a running vehicle without putting on the parking brake. RIP motorcyclist.
@ijog4wine yes, and turning the wheel toward the curb.
If this isn't negligent homocide, I don't know what is. Besides, when you park on a hill, you are supposed to turn your tires toward the curb in case this happens. Then your vehicle will roll into the curb. He may not have set his brake at all, and it came out of gear. I guess we will find out.
Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. A LOTÂ of life is predicated on luck. Some is good, some is not so good. I hope this person had enough of the good kind during his life to help balance this tragedy.
what a crapy way to die.  gods speed motorcyclist, may you RIP.
I can only imagine what will be discovered when the truck is inspected. Bad breaks, out of adjustment or air issues...the list will be long and the company will be rightly held accountable.
Yeah, that's what the parking brake is for. Don't underestimate the value of that thing. Could be saving a life!
Much unlike......RIP.
MUCH sympathy for the family of the cyclist. Wrongful death case if ever there was one! Hopefully, they won't even have to have the strain of going to court (although I've never seen a case that didn't involve lawyers), and the responsible parties will just quickly and adequately pay up (yes, it'll be their insurers that pay).
ugh.
Â
just had that talk today, on why i'd let my endorsement expire.
Â
roads are too crowded,
Â
and people have really lost all accountability for their own actions.
Â
why weren't the septic trucks tires turned into the curb,
and more importantly being state law, why were the wheels not chalked?
Â
I kind of have to hope this ends in a manslaughter conviction and a fat fat civil suit for the family of the deceased.

@cuppy Uh, I think any time you died would be in fact the ultimate sign (and your last) from up above. Â
