Motorcyclist killed in crash off I-5 ramp
SEATTLE -- A motorcyclist who crashed off an overpass and onto Interstate 5 early Monday has died.
Washington State Patrol spokeswoman Julie Startup said the 22-year-old Mercer Island man was taking the southbound I-5 ramp to eastbound I-90 when he lost control just before 4 a.m., went over the barrier and fell as much as 100 feet to I-5 below.
Medics rushed the man to Harborview Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Startup said investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The name of the man who was killed has not been released.
