New Washington State University store opens in Everett

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - Washington State Cougars are making a bigger imprint in Western Washington.

A WSU Connections shop opened over the weekend in downtown Everett to sell crimson and gray goods, wines associated with the viticulture program and the famous Cougar Gold cheese.

There's already a larger WSU store in Seattle. The Everett store goes along with Washington State University's taking over administration of the University Center of North Puget Sound where a new $10 million building is planned.

The Daily Herald reports card-carrying Cougar alumni get a 10 percent discount on many items at the store, although they prefer to see it as a surcharge on Huskies.
