COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (AP) - Supporters of Susan Powell have released a new song in advance of what would have been her 31st birthday on Tuesday.
The West Valley City woman was reported missing Dec. 7, 2009. Authorities had been probing her husband, Josh, who maintained his innocence before killing himself and the couple's two young sons in February at his home in Graham.
Jennifer Graves, Josh Powell's estranged sister, stressed the importance of building healthy relationships through appropriate boundaries during a talk Saturday at the Ivy Girl Academy in Cottonwood Heights.
It ended with a performance of "Susan's Song, 'A Dream Away,'" written by a friend after the boys were killed.
Profits from the song's sale will go toward memorials for Susan Powell in West Valley City and Puyallup, Wash.

I'm NOT trying to mean in anyway shape or form BUT - I lost my father (and I love & miss him with all my heart) and we all have lost someone in our lives that we deeply love/loved and we all show our remorse in our own way (no matter how long it takes). But I'm not asking people to help build a memorial for my father NOR is anyone else except for this family ... I don't understand ... remember please, I'm NOT trying to be mean ... only truthful! God Bless Everyone that we've lost - they will forever be in our hearts!
I can't get the video to play- all it says is "this video is private" anyone else get this message?
So now a new song every year to remind masses of the inept departments of 911 and child services...
What a gentle, beautiful, and touching remembrance of Susan Powell and her two sons, Charlie and Bradon. Thank you so much for sharing this. To Susan's grandparents: You have my tears and empathy. â¥â¥â¥
Â
Happy Birthday, Susan!

@Sounders_FC Your comment is SO SO uncalled for. Mean!!! I hope a terrible tragedy like this never happens to your family. I care!!!! Susan's Mom and Dad will feel thin pain everyday. Every time they see a child that makes them think of their own grand babies. Or a woman that looks like Susan. You are heartless. Go stand in a corner and think about your short comings.
@Sounders_FC So what do you call that? Troll's Blues?
@Sounders_FC And yet you read the article and took the time to make up that stupid "song". I guess that tells us you're more interested than you claim to be.
@Sounders_FC Classy. Learn to be compassionate. I am sure if it was your loved one, you would feel differently.Â
@Sounders_FC The only thing we have to get over is your unfeeling message.
Â
Thanks, what a great tribute to the life of Susan  and both of her young boys.Â
As a mother of two beautiful boys this really touched my heart. I still have my boys. Life has been a struggle but everyday I am so thankful I still have them. I've raised them by myself and I thank God everyday they are still here with me. God Bless the Susan's family.
This makes me wonder what happened to the case workers that allow him to have the kids in the first place and the 911 operator that thought it was a joke?
Who is Susan Powell ? Isn't this very olde news ?Â

@Sounders_FC  @Maynard G Krebbs I feel sorry for you both. Lacking the capacity to be compassionate.
Â
My kindest regards to Susan's loved ones.
 @Kendra Baily  @Sounders_FC http://crime.about.com/od/missing/a/baby-grabriel.htm  Let's see how much compassion you have .
@Maynard G Krebbs Yeah, you're right, let's just forget her. And her kids? The one's that were hatcheted and burned to death earlier this year? Let's forget them to. We're all very sorry to have bothered you.
@Jill How about all the children that killed every day !  Take a look at this storyÂ
http://crime.about.com/od/missing/a/baby-grabriel.htm  . What kind of judicial system do we have ??Â
@Kirk Graves Tell me exactly what horror Susan went through . Along with how you know this . The idea Susan suffered or is dead is supposition. There is no hard evidence of this. As they say "Only the facts please ?"Â
@Maynard G Krebbs The point of releasing this song is about raising awareness about domestic abuse. Susan became a face everyone in this country knows about. What better way to honor the horror she and her children went through than trying to help others avoid it. Go purchase the song. your small donation could help someone you don't even know get out of a bad situation.
It's heartbreaking to watch that and think about the three beautiful, innocent lives that were snuffed out, for absolutely nothing. Â I do believe in heaven and also in hell, and I think Susan and her boys are in the former together, and Josh is in the latter, hopefully to be joined by his sicko father soon. Â Thoughts and prayers for Susan's family on her birthday.
Thank god it's not a new release from Steven Powell...
@Throbbinhood Exactly what I was thinking. But do they have recording equipment in jail?
@Throbbinhood This is true, there's no residual slimy feeling.
