New wolf captured accidentally in NE Ore.
ELGIN, Ore. (AP) - A young gray wolf has been captured in an area of northeastern Oregon's Blue Mountains where wolves weren't known to be living.
Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife spokeswoman Michelle Dennehy says it wasn't immediately known if the 85-pound yearling male wolf belongs to one of three nearby packs or represents new wolf activity. Federal wildlife workers fitted him with a radio collar that may provide some answers.
The wolf was captured Thursday north of the town of Elgin, Ore.
The East Oregonian says the wolf was captured incidentally in a trap set for cougar that historically have attacked sheep in the area.

A corrupt California DEA poisoned my dog to death because I called the San Francisco Attorney General's office to complain that the FBI and DEA where fabricating evidence and stealing from me.
Â
I have a new dog and hope that by making the public aware of what happened, he is not poisoned as well.
Â
The FBI and DEA are those 1 to 2 inch mounds that are scattered about a dog park.
Â
Wow, 85 pounds is a BIG wolf for a yearling. That's a typical size for most grown adults. Maybe it's because the deer and elk and other wildlife around there don't know yet to be alert for wolves. It's a really well fed young wolf.
It was probably someones pet!
Time to SSS.
Collared?  Why? So they can follow it back to it's pack and shoot them?Â
Oregon is pretty good about the wolves so far..... Washington State disgusts me pertaining to shoot the wolves from a helicopter etc.! @fedup23Â
@Funky-Munky @fedup23 Maybe Oregon is so good about wolves because they were promised that their would be no release in Oregon and they didnt have to worry about them. Laughable. Wolves don't read state boundary signs. The way wolves multipy they will soon find themselves full of them.
Let my people GO!!!!!  :)
Good for the wolves. Just don't tell any cattlemen.
