Newborn found on roadside still unidentified; funeral planned

SEATTLE - A newborn baby girl found dead Feb. 12 by the side of a road in North Bend will be buried Saturday following a funeral service that is open to the public.

The girl is called Baby Kimball after a bridge near where she was found, near the 38800 block of SE North Bend Way. The newborn had been discarded about 10 feet off the road and was found wrapped in a towel with her umbilical cord still attached.

The King County Sheriff's Office is still trying to identify the mother or anyone who knows about the baby.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Snoqualmie Valley Alliance Church, 36017 SE Fish Hatchery Road, Fall City.

After the funeral Baby Kimball will be taken to Bonney Watson funeral home at 16445 International Blvd. in SeaTac for a 3 p.m. graveside service. She will be laid to rest near the Angel of Hope Monument.

The Tears Foundation, SAVE (Stop Abuse and Violence Everywhere), the Snoqualmie Valley Alliance Church and Bonney Watson helped King County authorities arrange the funeral.
