No injuries when man opens fire inside Seattle nightclub

SEATTLE -- Amazingly, no one was injured when a man opened fire inside a busy Belltown nightclub early Saturday morning.

Officers on patrol in the 2100 block of First Avenue say they saw a man fire several shots from a 9mm handgun inside the Cellars Lounge bar just after 1 a.m.

The man then ran out the bar's front door, at which point he dropped his gun on the sidewalk, according to police. One of the nightclub's bouncers stepped on the gun until police came over and took it into evidence.

The alleged shooter took off on foot down Western Avenue, but offices soon caught up with him. The 22-year-old was arrested and booked into King County Jail.

Nobody inside the bar was injured, though the ceiling was hit by several bullets.
