Water boil notice issued for northeast Thurston County

THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. - Public health officials are warning residents in northeast Thurston County to boil their water until further notice.

Water systems lost pressure after a pipe broke, The Olympian reported. Officials say a loss in pressure can lead to harmful contaminants entering the system.

The 206 homes in the Foxhall and Hollywood neighborhoods should boil their tap water until testing can be done.

To kill germs, the Department of Health says to boil water for at least one minute and allow to cool before using.
