PUYALLUP, Wash. (AP) — A police officer and his K-9 partner are recovering from an accident involving an impaired driver.

The Puyallup Police Department said an intoxicated driver went through a stop sign and struck a patrol car on the side early Saturday morning. Both the officer and his K-9 partner were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
