Owner sought after little dog hops on Portland bus

TIGARD, Ore. -- A TriMet bus driver had an unexpected passenger Tuesday morning.

At around 5:30 a.m., a small dog jumped onboard a Line 12 bus in in Tigard. It happened when riders were getting on the bus at Southwest Pacific Highway and McDonald Street stop. One of the bus riders held onto the dog until a TriMet supervisor could connect with the bus and get the dog off of it. From all accounts, the pooch seemed to enjoy the ride and was friendly.

The dog was taken to the Town & Country Animal Hospital on Southeast 125th and Division in Portland, with the hope it had a microchip embedded in its skin that would lead to the owner. But unfortunately for the dog, that wasn’t the case. Now officials are trying to figure out another way of connecting the dog with its owner.

Officials said the dog is probably about six years old.
