Passenger dead, driver arrested after rollover crash near I-5
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- A man is dead and a woman is under arrest after a rollover crash in Federal Way Wednesday that troopers suspect was caused by drinking and driving.

The crash happened on the exit ramp to SR-18 East from I-5 North around 12:20 p.m., troopers said.

Police say both the 27-year-old woman driving the car and her male passenger were ejected during the crash. The car then caught fire but it was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

The woman told troopers she was the only person in the car, but firefighters cleaning up the crash site noticed the man unconscious in the woods. They quickly attempted CPR but the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide, as investigators say it appears the woman was drunk.

Troopers say it doesn't appear either person was wearing a seat belt.

The exit ramp was closed for the crash investigation and was expected to remain closed through much of Wednesday afternoon.
