Persistent would-be robber turned away from convenience store

ISSAQUAH, Wash. -- Police say a would-be armed robber's persistence didn't pay off Sunday night when she tried to hold up an Issaquah convenience store.
Officers responded to an armed robbery in progress late Sunday night at a convenience store in the 1400 block of NW Sammamish Road.
By the time they arrived, the robber, a woman with dark hair, was already gone.
A clerk said the woman walked into the store displaying what looked to be handgun, according to police. The woman approached the clerk and demanded money, but the employee refused and the pair began to scuffle.
At some point in the melee, the clerk was able to disarm the woman.
Undeterred, the robber then pulled a knife on the clerk and once again asked for money. Once again, the clerk disarmed the woman, at which point she gave up and ran away.
The clerk wasn't injured.
Officers, including a K-9 unit, searched the area but were unable to locate the woman.
Police say she stands about 5'5" tall and has a medium build.

So, if the clerk disarmed her, wouldn't we now know whether or not 'what looked to be a handgun' was or wasn't an actual handgun? Btw, Komonews, if you need any quality reporters/writers, I'm confident I could do a much better job.
Oh well - she'll have no problem being identified now.
Another life, down the ole' crapper.
Disarmed her and then should have shot and killed her. done her family and society a favor. Would have been peaceful thanksgivings and Christmas's for the family from here on out.Â
bad guys didn't get the memo. those koreans at the am/pm mini mart ain't giving up no cash lol
I take it that the clerk was MUCH bigger than the perp?
I'm sorry but I have a real hard time believing this story. If it is true then once again I am sorry but the clerk should be fired. There is never enough money in a mini mart to be stupid enough to risk your life fighting with an armed robber. Just give them the money and call the police.
@Can't Spell Don't Care Unless you own the store.
@Can't Spell Don't Care how many times have you seen them give them the money and they still get shot?
Somebody is at the end of their rope.
