Discovery Park
The City of Seattle describes this site as "one of breathtaking majesty." This beach, which is located on the former site of Fort Lawton, boasts a full two miles of protected tidal shores -- and if you drive into the park, you can find the lighthouse area, which arguably offers the best views of the Sound. There are also grassy areas in the park itself, making it great for picnicking, leisurely walks, or a jog along the water. (Joshua Lewis / KOMO News)
