Photos: Space Shuttle trainer exhibit opens in Seattle

SEATTLE - An exhibit featuring a full-scale mock-up of a Space Shuttle has opened to the public.
The Museum of Flight exhibit opened Saturday, with speeches by dignitaries, appearances by astronauts and music by a local high school band.
The mock-up, which was built in the 1970s, was used to train every space shuttle astronaut before their missions over a period of three decades. The public will be able to walk through the mock-up to learn about astronaut training.
It took three flights on a huge plane known as the Super Guppy to bring the massive mock-up to Seattle.

I know! Can't wait!!
Although I believe we were cheated out of an actual shuttle, this is still a good consolation since many places received little to nothing from the shuttle retirements. With the trainer, you can climb inside whereas with the shuttles themselves, you could only see it from the outside and not allowed inside.
I'll be going up to see it after the holidays.
