Police: Burglars spooked by resident hiding under her covers

SEATTLE -- A pair of burglars ran out of a Magnolia house Thursday morning after finding its resident hiding in bed under her covers, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to police, a woman was sleeping around 9 a.m. in the 3300 block of 38th Avenue West when someone rang her doorbell three times.

The next thing she knew, the door to the bedroom next to hers opened, then hers opened.

She later told officers she hid under the covers, but the burglars eventually pulled them back and found her. She said they yelled that someone was in the house and ran off.

Two witnesses saw the men run away from the house, but officers were unable to find them.

It appears the men got into the house by prying open the backdoor, according to police.

Despite three people seeing the suspected burglars, police were unable to get a detailed description of them.
