SEATTLE -- Police say an alleged drug dealer "secreted" nearly an ounce of crack cocaine while detained in the back of a police cruiser.

West Precinct Anti-Crime Team officers were conducting a drug operation in the early hours of Thursday when they arrested a 35-year-old suspected drug dealer in the 1500 block of 2nd Avenue.

While sitting in the backseat of the patrol car, police say the suspect "secreted 23.9 grams of crack cocaine" before kicking and severely damaging the car's left rear door. Police say both the property damage and the attempt to hide the crack were captured on the cruiser's in-car video system.

During a routine check of the back seat, officers found the crack cocaine and collected it.

The man also told his arresting officers that "every Blood out at 3 and P will take care of your asses," according to police.

The suspect was subsequently booked into King County Jail for Investigation of violating the Uniform Control Substance Act-possession with intent to sell, malicious mischief, harassment and for a Department of Corrections detainer.

Police say the patrol vehicle had to be taken out of service because of the damage.
